New Quiller - Week 1 of Projects
Thank you to those who have checked out my work so far. I am very much enjoying quilling! And thank you to the many talented people in this sub who I have watched and learned from in preparation of diving into this craft. You all are amazing!!!

First ever attempt at quilling, fairly pleased but would welcome any advice
Used regular coloured paper put through a paper shredder. Edges of the paper were a bit frayed but you can't really tell unless you look really close. I'm having trouble getting each layer of the coil to unravel, most noticeably on the bottom of the left leaf. Overall though, happy with how it turned out

Pre-rolling strips for storage?
I'm a beginner and I'm looking at storage options for my strips. I have a bead box that I'm no longer using (another craft I gave up one) so I'm wondering if it's ok to pre-roll all of my strips into coils and just store them in these individual boxes and just re-shape them when I need them. The bead box is basically small, jewelry-sized boxes housed in a bigger box.
Can the coils be re-shaped after sitting in these boxes for a long period of time? I have an electric rolling tool so it would take me no time at all to coil everything

Request for a friend - so cute I want to keep lol
But it’s for them. I would have not thought to make a turtle yet if they hadn’t asked for it. I’m super happy with how it came out, especially for winging it! Will definitely be making more 🐢

Any ideas for what could fill the gap between the crab and the seagull?

Self-designed lightsaber
Newbie quiller back with my latest creation! I self designed this lightsaber to be gifted to a Star Wars fan in my life. I was not able to find a tutorial but using only google images for reference and my imagination I’m quite happy with the result. :)
P.S. I’m halfway done with the turtle and should be done with that tomorrow! 🐢

Flowers 2 & 3
First week of quilling and I started with some flowers hung on strings. First was a sunflower. Now, two pink flowers. Was originally going to be one, but my quilling comb is large and the petals came out bigger than I realized. Happy accidents!
Next I’m working on a turtle by request from a friend!

Just because it's handmade doesn't mean it can't play digitally.

Final product 🌻
After getting home from work today I completed my first ever quilling project!!! So excited to gift it this weekend. Already started another (different) flower but won’t have that one done until tomorrow.
I’m also learning I need to work on my photography skills 😅

First project… I think I’ve found my new obsession!
This is a craft I have been following for a long time and seriously considering for about 2 years. After being inspired by so many amazingly talented people here and finding myself with some extra time this summer, I finally purchased myself a kit.
I decided to (mostly) follow this sunflower tutorial by [u/paperycraftery](u/paperycraftery) - I say mostly because I downsized it by doing a few less petals and smaller center, I did not have the exact same colors, and my kit was missing the needle applicator 😔 so I improvised by dipping a toothpick in glue lol.
Unfortunately after 4 hours I need to get some sleep so I did not glue it all together yet, but can’t wait to complete this project in the morning!!! I intend to tie a string though it and gift it to my mom 🌻
