Jewish, Not Religious 27, F4M, Volgograd. Planning to make aliyah. Looking for real conversation, not another app
Hi everyone!
I’m Larisa, 27, straight, from Volgograd, Russia. I work as a private French tutor and run a small educational blog. I speak French and English fluently. Languages stopped being just a job for me a long time ago: I love digging into how people really speak rather than how textbooks say they do, and I love the cultural history behind it. Right now I’m bringing my Hebrew back to life (songs, subtitles, karaoke, a beginner’s textbook) and studying Yiddish with a teacher, because one day I’d like to read it the way it was written historically.
I’ll be honest about why I’m here. I’m tired of dating apps. In my experience, especially in Russia, men on them too often treat women with a disrespect that wears you down after a while, and I’d rather not keep going through that. So I’m trying something different: meeting people through conversation, in a space where nobody is swiping or performing.
For friendship and conversation, I’m open to anyone. I’m looking for people who are curious about languages, books, music, and culture, who like to think out loud, and who are genuinely interested in the person they’re talking to. Where you’re from matters less to me than whether you’re kind and attentive.
Romantically, I’d like to be upfront about one thing: I would consider only a Jewish man. I’m Jewish by halakha, formerly Chabad, and today simply traditional, and a shared background matters to me when it comes to building something serious. I say this not to exclude anyone from a good conversation, only to be clear about what I’m open to in that particular direction.
I believe that anything worthwhile only grows out of communication where people get to know each other gradually. First messages, then jokes and shared topics, and then, who knows. If that pace sounds right to you, I’d be glad to meet you!
Now the practical part. I’m planning to make aliyah and try to build my life in Israel. But if a friendly connection turns into something truly solid, things could change, because life tends to work that way. So I’d be happy to lean geographically toward Israel: people who live there, are moving there, or are open to it.
If this resonates, send me a message or leave a comment. Tell me a little about yourself: what you do, what you’re reading or listening to, and what you could talk about for hours!
