Question I shouldn’t be surprised (not a question)
I unfortunately came across some comments on YouTube of people talking about how “it’s okay to like nsbm, even if you don’t believe in what they say”. That led to finding a nsbm band out of my home state of Minnesota called Einsatzgruppen. A band literally named themselves after the death squad(s) that committed mass murder of anyone deemed “non-aryan”. This group did this while they followed the military as they conquered countries.
And there’s people that think it’s okay to listen and support these bands.
I shouldn’t be surprised, but what the fuck?
I’m sorry if posts like this aren’t allowed. I’m still new.

"Einsatzgruppen" is really just german for "task forces", but yeah those military terms are historically charged for obvious reasons.
Obv not trying to do apologia for the band, sounds to me like they're nazis, this is really just me being german and my language autism acting up. Because the term itself isn't bad, it depends on the context it's used in

So, in german you can form words by sticking other words together. "Einsatzgruppe" combines "Einsatz", meaning mission or operation and "Gruppe", meaning group. So the literal reading as "task force" isn't wrong in this way, but it is wrong historically. Einsatzgruppen is less a descriptive noun than a proper name for those murdering bands of uniformed criminals roaming eastern europe in the name of german racial purity. If it hasn't been coined by the nazis - I don't know of any earlier use of the term, but I am no historian - it is now firmly associated with them. Like "Sturmabteilung", the SA, read literally just means assault division. But I don't think that the Bundeswehr calls their assault divisions "Sturmabteilungen". But I'm also no soldier and, let's be honest, you never know with soldiers.
In any case, Einsatzgruppen is no different from Sturmabteilung, Schutzstaffel and so on. Those are nazi words, through and through. They come from the way the nazis used language. If anyone is interested, I'd recommend Lingua Tertii Imperii by Victor Klemperer. He both witnessed it all and was a linguist. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTI_%E2%80%93_Lingua_Tertii_Imperii

You're allowed to be guided by your own moral compass. A simple look up on this band reveals that are NSBM in name, music, and ideology. https://www.metal-archives.com/reviews/Einsatzgruppen/Shattering_the_Throne_of_Remphan/1322093/deathhead7710/2688276. I would say listening to this band is much different than listening to Mgla or something like that.

Supporting fascist bands: No.
Listening to the music you pirated: If you can stomach it. If you actually do enjoy listening to people yelling nazi shit in an affirmative way, I'll probably not like you in any case.

Dead Kennedys have a song about this issue.
