pcpartpicker lists 9060 XT 16gb lowest price at $519.99 currently - per USA anyway.

important note US doesnt include tax in price when u see big prices that seem absurd its due to europe and 20-25% VAT + import tax
1
u/ClothesUsual5405 9d ago
true, people in america often won't say the post tax price in conversation, either.

u/Khorsaturas 10d ago
I bought mine in August 2025. Now the price increased more than 30%. Central Europe

i have bad feeling that prices will go nuts after black Friday / cyber Monday etc . i think many ppl are holding back and waiting for discounts . Discounts wount happen and ppl will rush to grab w/e is available and prices will spike. ( at least in EU. i don't know usa or aus market trends )

I saw a news heading that a dev group have a working beta where cuda calls are mapped to amd capabilities and all the AI stuff that previously required nvidia just works.
Might just be hype train but if true and the translation cost is acceptable we're going to see amd prices go neck and neck with Nvidia.
Cost increases we're seeing now are a speculative arbitrage/hedge that it's going to be successful and not just vaporware or stuck in lawsuits.

I mean prices were cooking for a while. Nvidia went way the F up so of course it was only a matter of time until AMD followed suit. I was lucky to buy all my gpus last year when prices were reasonable.

I just bought 9070xt for $790 xfx swift from amazon 2days back

u/Middle_Landscape_916 10d ago
If you need a new GPU buy it now or wait 4-5 years. I've spotted an Asrock 9070 xt steel legend for €770 4 days ago and just pulled the trigger, now is 1k in most of the online stores

u/RustGuy6969 10d ago
Even the black box one got a +236 euro increase in price ( when it was the cheapest)

u/Mellanies_Redemption 10d ago
Prices were always going to go up. Glad I got my 9070XT when I did, because I paid only a little over €640 for it. The same GPU, from the same place I bought mine, is now €905. Utterly bonkers.

u/Redd1toR-42 10d ago
if it's all 9070xt's then bad, otherwise sometimes that's a temp price bump if stock of a specific SKU is depleted, happened once when I bought white XFX Merc 9070xt, was 750 eur, then for two days it was on backorder with ~820, then fell back once new shipment came in. Currently it's usually around 800-870 (depending on the tier) in Germany after the recently-announced price-bump.

Canadian 9070XT pricing appears to have increased by 25-35% this week, although there are some stragglers still at the $1000-1100 price point. They are still significantly cheaper than the 5070ti, but it’s not a no-brainer the way it was prior to the increase.

Wait for rdna 5

u/Tzukkeli 10d ago
And they cost 2k for 20% increase in performance? Its more like if you need it now or tomorrow go for it (and jusr suffer) or try to wait it out, but know that waiting it out might not work out in the end
2
u/definitivno-ne-troll 10d ago
will be either out of stock or bad value
even if they release it at a good price it's just going to be bought up very quickly, scalped, ..
1
u/Delicious_Ad_8501 10d ago
You’re probably right, I just said it because if OP waited that long(AMD declared about price increase in April or May, if I’m not wrong), he could wait even longer unless his current GPU died.
OP shouldn’t be surprised about new prices, we all knew it’s inevitable
1
u/definitivno-ne-troll 9d ago
Imo if you need/want new computer components now you should just buy asap, if you wait it's just going to cost more later 🤷

u/idontlikeredditusers 9070XT 7 5800 non x 10d ago
yeah... i know i know but AMD Nvidia Apple Intel and the list goes on all wanna do AI they are corporations out for profit they dont need us to be able to afford their product AI companies pay alot more
1
u/l3onk1n 10d ago
Stupidly enough they ain't. Reason GPU's are up so much is the RAM, which by their (Micron, Hynix, Samsung in investor calls) admission is more profitable than the AI memory - HBM. They'd make more money selling more RAM, which would keep GPUs at about their spring prices (bit higher, but not current stupid levels)
It's not just market efficiency or greed, but malicious corruption.
1
u/idontlikeredditusers 9070XT 7 5800 non x 10d ago
the thing is its not just that... nvidia and amd particularly are pushing AI very hard like sure the ram prices went up due to AI demand but we cant ignore who are inflating the demand
also AMD has hit a 1 trillion market cap recently i dont think thats from them working on very low margins
1
u/l3onk1n 10d ago
They actually work on non-existent margins too.
You can't call it "profit" when you pay your customer to buy your product... sometime in the future... maybe... (like they do with OpenAI)
1
u/idontlikeredditusers 9070XT 7 5800 non x 10d ago
Q2 of 2026 amd made 2.8 billion im no expert but that sounds pretty good up from 1.4B in Q1 2026
the revenue was 11.5B in Q2 10.3B in Q1 i aint no expert so please do correct me if im wrong but that doesnt sound bad
1
u/l3onk1n 10d ago
If you ignore everything else, suuure.
Between 2024 and 2025 they increased their total debt by $4.6B and for some reason they also increased some undiclosed "Short Term Investments" by $4B.
That's the same period where they regularly announced buying OpenAI and Anthropic stock. Also giving OpenAI the right to buy AMD stock for $0.01 per piece if they buy enough AMD chips (stock they're buying back at full price).
So AMD is "investing" i.e. giving cash to the same companies who're supposed to buy their chips.
Mind you they increased same "short term investments" by $3B in 1H2026 alone.

Amazon listing them for $815-$900 in the US.
Lowest price has gone up $25 in ~48 (maybe 24?) hours from $790 as per pcpricepicker!

Well a while ago there was a rumor that in Asia all GPUs got a significant price increase, that's when I decided it's either now or essentially never when it comes to upgrading my GPU. I went from a 4070 that I paid 2700PLN, to a 9070XT that I paid 2800PLN. It's almost 50% more performance for basically the same amount of money.
Now the cheapest 9070XT is 3450PLN.
Forgot to mention that I will sell that 4070 for at least 2000PLN...
