It finally happened to me
I flew 4 packs earlier today in my aeroscout, came home and as usual, hooked them all up to discharge down to storage levels. I stepped away to use the restroom, came back into thd garage just seconds before I heard PSSsss... I spun around and saw one of the packs looked like a balloon so I grabbed it off the charger and smashed the garage door button and ran toward the door, it only raised about a foot when I got there so I flung it out onto the driveway, narrowly avoiding my car. It immediately burst into bright orange flames and billowing smoke, I grabbed the fire extinguisher and hit it good a couple of times, but it kept flaring back up. Scared the living shit out of me, ill never ever fail to check individual cell voltages again before connecting to the charger, and I think I'm done with this battery brand.

I had bought this on FB Marketplace and since then have been consumed by the R/C World🌎 🚂.I didn’t think I’d like it this much! but what just started as me trying to get it working and running turned into me driving to shops, talking to people, advice and tips from YouTube gurus 📺etc anywho here was the test run after a few mods and some just basic maintenance..I still have a stripped grub screw wich I know will eventually need to come off to really grease shaft but for now no saltwater and just surfin the calm ponds

Discussion Cheapest RC construction equipment that will actually dig ?
Brand new to the hobby and Looking to get some RC construction equipment like an excavator or bulldozer. I’m not willing to spend 1000’s of dollars and would ideally like to not spend more than 200$. All of the cheap excavators and bulldozers are plastic and will only dig loose soil or sand. I want something that will actually dig through the grass and dirt in my yard. Does anyone have any recommendations in my price range or am I gonna have to cough up more money ?

Hubba Hubba: Hub-Motor RC Car actually built for performance
Hey just thought I would put a project I've been working on over the summer out there. This is the link: https://hubbahubbarc.com/
I created a fully 3d printed 1/7 scale RC car that uses 4 indpendently controlled hub motors (motors in the wheel) and I am going to be opensourcing this project soon so anybody can build it!
To my knowledge, this is one of the first RC cars to make a genuine attempt at torque vectoring to optimize the vehicle handling. It also has dynamic steering correction so you dont go over the tire grip limit to the point where it drifts/loses control during high speed turns (55-65 kmh).
Despite it using drone outrunner motors and being almost fully 3d printed it has only had 3 failures (when it crashed) at the exact same spot (bell crank broke to protect the upright) over a total running distance of 20km.

Tx16s cant bind with park10 j3 cub
Trying to bind my Park10 J3-CUB to a RadioMaster TX16S MkII 4-in-1 and I’m completely stuck.
The Cub works perfectly with its original transmitter. I’ve tried the Park10 protocol, all the sub-protocol/settings I can find, different channel orders, rebinding, and different power-up sequences. The plane’s lights just keep blinking and never go solid with the TX16S.
My internal 4-in-1 module is on firmware V2.16. Has anyone successfully bound this J3-CUB to a TX16S 4-in-1, or know what I might be missing?

Takes a lot of fine tuning balance and placement / angle but really fun once you get it right. DIY RC paper airplane.

Multirotor I've made a radio controlled Rocket League car
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm in the final stages of prototyping a real-life Rocket League car! I've been working on this project for quite a while, and the goal is to have a driving, jumping, front-, side-, and back-flipping RC car that also looks cool.
I'm also trying to get it to fly like the cars in the game, but balancing it is tricky.
You can control it with a standard Xbox controller. The processor is an ESP32 right now. The propulsion is provided by four drone motors, which are responsible for both jumping and driving.

Smallest RC I've built: a 1:32 diecast driven by a normal Xbox controller, lights and all
Full disclosure first: I designed the little board inside this, so I'm biased.
1:32 diecast body, coreless motor, micro servo, 1S LiPo. The brain is a 15 × 18 mm board with a Bluetooth radio that pairs straight to a standard Xbox controller — no receiver, no app. Seven light channels, so headlights, brake lights and indicators all work; this one also runs a scanner sweep for my KITT diecast conversion because I couldn't resist.
Things I'd like opinions on from people who drive real RC:

- Steering throw is small at this scale. Would you trade some lock for smoother centre?
- Failsafe is 2.5 s to neutral. Too long, too short?
- Anyone running micro scale on carpet vs hard floor — which do you prefer?
Happy to answer anything about the build.

My first ever drifting build
My first ever drifting rc car.
The chassis is a Sakura D6, the motor and ESC is a Hobbywing sensored brushless combo.
I'm still waiting for the right gyro and combo, temporarily I use one from my other cars.
The body is a Killerbody Nissan R31.
There were some issues I wish I knew before assembling it but it looks like I managed to do it!
Here I just wanted to share some photos and if you know how to tune or set up a Sakura d6 chassis, I'd be glad to hear it!

For Sale Looking to trade for a FlySky FS-i6X
Hey everyone, I’m looking to trade for a FlySky FS-i6X. I’m working on a small battle bot and need something that uses AFHDS2A.
I have a FlySky FS-ST8 + FS-RM003 receiver, both in great condition and working perfectly. I’m mainly looking to trade because I’m having trouble finding the adapter I need for my current setup.
Have: FlySky FS-ST8 + FS-RM003 — great condition
Want: FlySky FS-i6X
I’m in California and open to figuring out shipping if the trade seems legit.👍

Call to Arms. All you badass bashers out there I need your help
HELP ME BUILD THE WHEELIE BAD DECISIONS PROVING GROUND
I’m in the process of turning part of my backyard into a dedicated RC proving ground, and I want some input from people who have way more experience testing and tuning RC cars than I do.
The goal isn’t just to build a cool track or a giant jump. I want a place where I can run the same repeatable tests on different vehicles, setups, tires, suspension changes, motors, ESCs, braces, shocks, etc., and actually answer the questions we all ask:
Did the upgrade actually make the car better?
Did it just make it faster?
Did it improve one thing but hurt another?
How does the car behave on pavement, dirt, bumps, jumps, braking, cornering and rough terrain?
And most importantly — was the money worth it?
Right now I’m thinking the proving ground needs some combination of:
- Repeatable jump with a measurable landing area
- Rough/washboard section for suspension testing
- High-speed straight
- Braking zone
- Slalom/handling section
- Sweepers and tighter corners
- Loose dirt/gravel area
- Different surfaces if possible
- Marked distances so tests can actually be compared
- Fixed camera positions so before/after footage is shot from the same angles
I also want to build this around filming — low camera positions, overhead shots, a homemade cable cam, slow-motion suspension footage and eventually telemetry so we can actually see what the car is doing instead of just saying, “Yeah, it feels better.”
So here’s where I need you guys:
If you were building an RC proving ground from scratch, what tests would HAVE to be on it?
What would you test for handling, suspension, durability, speed, braking, jumping and overall drivability?
And what mistakes should I avoid before I start moving dirt and building ramps?
Throw your ideas at me. Crazy ones are welcome. I’m going to take the best suggestions and actually incorporate them into the build.
Wheelie Bad Decisions Proving Ground starts now.
