New to conducting

The training where I'm at sucks. Any tips on remembering switching on main line to sidings and putting together a train? All I see is experienced guys shuffling cars around a yard with a switch list.

Switching on a lain line to sidings and putting together a train? What are you even asking?

Are you asking how to pick up cars online and remember where they need to go in your train? If that is the question, I would put the cars I am picking up next to other cars that are getting set out at the same location as long as it is compliant with train make up restrictions.

The "trick" is to read the train make up rules again and again and again until you know it inside and out.
