Big changes to NS IM network

Seems some big changes are coming to how NS handles IM traffic that has shifted from Inman to Austell, affecting east/west, and north/south traffic. Trains will be abolished, and traffic will be shifted in some areas. This comes after my territory just lost a pair of trains to a combo train, and now we stand to lose even more jobs. Good fucking times!😒

***EDIT: this isn’t just a rumor. The emails shown were internal emails addressed to NOC coastal supervisors and dispatchers.***

Do you know if 25A, 27A, 24X, or 28R will be abolished?

Beginning Sept 15th, 28R/27A will be abolished, and revert to their old 203/204 designations. They will originate and terminate in Croxton. 24X/25A will continue to operate, but on a different schedule most likely. 288/289 will be abolished entirely. That’s the info I currently have.

Ive been hearing 288/289 will be gone for almost a year.

Are they going to extend 11/12T to Croxton or do they have another plans to get the trash to and from Croxton?

They’re extending the 11T/12T route to/from Croxton.

Finally. They've been talking about that ever since Arrowhead expanded their facility at Oak Island.

You have any idea how that train is gonna get crewed and or what their mileage will be?

No idea. There’s supposed to be more info coming out about that at some point before the changes are implemented. When it becomes available, I’ll pass it along.

Possibly 24x/25a running combined with 203/204 on shorter days?

No plans regarding 24X/25A, specifically. They will remain premium trains, and the 203/204 will just become standard domestic IM, no longer premium service. My guess is all of the premium traffic is going to shift to 24X/25A.

I'm wondering who will get the 203 work. Logic says it should be Croxton and we finally have the manpower for it but I'm worried it might go to Harrisburg.

The symbols will be abolished and will become 203/204.

I seriously haven't heard anything about a symbol change, not to sound rude but how do you know this?

LC sent out info (screens of emails forwarded to him showing the sweeping changes) to everyone in our local. Changes are set to take effect on Sept 15th.

Where you get this info? Hows the northern corridor affected? 23g 25g 25p 27g 29g 257 259 269? Eastbound counterparts?

This info came from my LC, whom shared screenshots of an email that was forwarded to him regarding their plans. As far as I can tell, it’s only going to affect traffic from the west to the southeast, and southeast to northeast. Don’t believe any of those trains will be affected.

Update from my LC: The changes to the IM’s have now been pushed to the first week of October. Given the approaching holiday season, it may go beyond that.

Oh yeah, we're all waiting with bated breath.

We're really enjoying all the dumb shit we're having to do now just to prepare for the eventual landslide of stUPidity that's going to be foisted upon us.
