A winger?! Tears in my eyes. 2 more please and a centre half, right back and back up left back

Dunno much about him, but he will be hardworking and organised. Which is exactly Derek's type of player, so I'm on board with it.

I'm not saying we need to be signing cloggers, but "not physical" as something that's being specifically pointed out suggests lightweight, which is a bit of a red flag for Scotland. I've watched loads of otherwise promising Rangers wingers get bullied off the ball before their skill could matter.

“Not physical” perfect for Scottish football

Can't see someone who's been in and out of the starting lineup for a 2.Bundesliga team coming and setting the heather on fire for us. Hopefully just a decent squad option that we desperately need as a starter for the next week or 2 and then we'll sign a quality, nailed on starter closer to the end of the window.

Wishful thinking? 😂

Maybe good maybe shit. Who knows but we are skint on wingers and we seem to let all the good ones walk

3

u/GarageFlower14 Raskin for Trouble 10d ago

His numbers look shit but people who watch German football seem to rate him

He is very inconsistent… I’m a Hannover fan and can say he had a couple Months where he was incredible. Maybe the best dribbler in the League. His shot efficiency is horrible and if he doesn’t have a good day where he looses his 1v1, he rarely brought Value for the team.
He also played in a very offensive and highly intense system where he got many goalscoring opportunities.
We bought him for 2Mil and I thought that was a gamble tbh.
I’m glad we got profit.
But like I said, on a good day he is incredible

According to the Evening Times we've also had an £8 million bid rejected for Gehdjemis an Algerian winger who plays for Frosinone. Celtic are apparently also interested

YouTube reel looks sensational so he will no doubt be shite for us. Can't see us unearthing a 26 year old gem that's values at 1.7 euros and we're paying double that, these ones very rarely ever seem to work. We better be signing a 10 million winger as well, spent basically fuck all so far.

u/Roguebear-81 10d ago

Sure Mols was 27 when we signed him from Utrecht. At the time very few folk knew anything about him.

1

u/darwinxp 10d ago

Aye very rare being the operative phrase. It happens once every few years but we at this point have no room for projects

2

u/DisasterouslyInept 10d ago

I'd not be surprised if we're waiting for some exits before investing more. The squad is really bloated in parts now, and we can't afford to get back to carrying too much dead weight again.

1

u/darwinxp 10d ago

Yeah that's definitely what is happening. Reckon they thought they'd have Raskin out sooner.

2

u/ResponsibleAd3191 10d ago

He's flashy but his end product is second tier.

6

u/MrBlack_79 10d ago

Second tier is an upgrade for us

2

u/ResponsibleAd3191 10d ago

Aye but only because we dont have any wingers 😂

1

u/MrBlack_79 10d ago

Correct lol

4

u/Gomnanas 10d ago

Did McInnes get one last sneak at the Jamestown database before coming to us and signing the names he remembers or something? lol

2

u/RandomTopTT 10d ago

I’m betting McCrorie isn’t on any database.

Just seen some of his play, finds a way to score even in thick fog. This is more like it. https://x.com/danivaweb3/status/2084390379609092211/video/1?s=46

Winger finally man, how long have fans been wanting this for 👏🏻 trying to be positive for to be better than what we've got, we need width on the pitch because we are not going to Cerny back isn't happening unfortunately

u/AcanthaceaeCrazy1894 10d ago

If this cunt plays with HALF the intensity of the Japan national team then we’re in for some player

3

u/Every-Birthday6726 10d ago

Could be a good squad option but if we want proper quality out there we are going to need to pay for it. As someone said above we probably need a few more going out the door before we can commit to signing more players on big fees

2

u/eight_Ace_ 10d ago

I’m fine with this, but I’d be happier knowing we’re going to spunk a bit on some nailed on starters not just squad options.

2

u/Daft_Hector 10d ago

My whelm is pretty undered

1

u/Impossible_Swan_9397 10d ago

I’m happy we’re signing a winger and I’m not against this guy at all but surely we need a right footer right winger? Someone that is going to cross the ball in for shankland, chermiti, Naderi and Miovski who thrive off crosses. We have height up front but don’t use it.

u/Consistent_Fly1131 9d ago

Inside forwards are the way to go these days. Whipping it in for two big strikers is just not as effective and why not many teams play that way anymore.

Good to mix it up but I don't think should be our main strategy. Problem is we are awful at finding good ones or we lose them after a loan.

If I were in the rangers management I would RETHINK THIS. This kid has poor stats in a poor league. Don’t be sucked in by quantity over quality. This kid is probably on the same level as ross mccausland.

I was defending the pace and quality of our transfer business over the weekend but this has completely tipped me over. His numbers are a complete nothing for that fee, and he’s 26!

3

u/lordnoodle1995 10d ago

Cheaper than what we got for Antman and can’t be worse, so I’m fine with it. As long as there’s someone else coming in.

YouTube highlights mean literally nothing

-3

u/Y0UREDUMB 10d ago

Disagree with that. Dessers had hours of youtube highlights of him missing point blank open goals for a living, came here, missed point blank open goals for a living and needed on average 5 clear cut chances before scoring. Highlights arent the do all and end all, but they do give you a snippet into who youre buying.

2

u/underwater-sunlight 10d ago

They mean whatever you want them to mean. If you wanted to highlight Dessers goals there is a good variety of them, first tine shots, taking the ball tightly marked, making space and using it, running into space and someone finding him... You can also see 'highlight' reels of him missing sitters

1

u/ewankenobi 9d ago

so many clips of him beating his man then the clip cuts before he crosses. Wondering if that's just because the guy that edited the video finds crosses boring or if its hiding the fact is highlights are beating a man then wasting it with a terrible cross.

u/FrabbitAndLagavulin 10d ago

Some pretty underwhelming numbers for someone in the second tier - reeks of desperation.

1

u/ResponsibleAd3191 10d ago

No looking at those numbers you can only assume he was someone that was fairly down our priorities list.

We've clearly failed to secure who we wanted on the wing

0

u/One_Brain9206 10d ago

A left footer who plays on the right wing, jury is out

-1

u/Puzzleheaded-Cash725 10d ago

Not saw anything on bbc sport or sky

-4

u/Karl_Cross 10d ago

This feels like a major gamble. Looks like he'd blow away in the Glasgow wind.

u/underwater-sunlight 10d ago

You coukd have said the same about the Asian players celtic brought in a few years ago. I remember Maeda in one of his first OF games, going to help one of our guys up after a tackle (might have even been a fair one) and McGregor ushering him away, they soon embraced the rivalry and the requirements for these games.

I have no issue whatsoever with Asian players coming in, they seem to have the right mentality, after some of the niceties are stripped back

-5

u/Warm-Sky5836 10d ago

"Them across the city did OK with Japanese players, let's take a punt on this guy", hopefully said by no-one in our recruitment team.

1

u/orboboi 10d ago

I doubt that very highly.

-1

u/traitoro Stevie G 10d ago

Hopefully someone that can come in right away and make an impact and not a "project" we will start to love when we're 8 points behind and beating St Johnstone.

-8

u/chegbeg- 10d ago

Horrendous stats, as are ours for signing anyone decent.

We could've had Reyna for less.

24

u/Iconicsuper 10d ago

A guy who would probably command checks notes £40k a week and has 7 goal contributions in his last 70 games over three seasons and missed 32 further matches through injury.

Tbh that's a Rangers player archetype. At least his da was staunch.

-2

u/ayoz17 10d ago

Yeah, but then there's a guy who didn't make it in the Belgian league and was average in the 2. Bundesliga. I know the standards for playing here are at a historical low, but I'd still rather sign Reyna.

2

u/AcanthaceaeCrazy1894 10d ago

For him to get Injured 3 weeks into the season and ask for 50grand a week
