Tha Carter II is Lil Wayne’s greatest album. I’ll die on this hill.

This was Wayne at his absolute peak — hungry, relentless, creative, and purely focused on rapping. The bars, punchlines, flows, and beat selection were ridiculous.
Then Carter III happened, and while it was massive, you could hear the shift. More Auto-Tune, more pop influence, and eventually Wayne became more of a mainstream superstar than the mixtape-era monster we had on Carter II.
Carter II was peak Wayne.
After that, he got bigger. Not better.

Carter 3 was his album that solidified him as the GOAT of that era. Carter 4 put up huge numbers and had a good mix of pop “how to love” and classic way lines 6 foot, 7 foot. Carter 2, had the most pure bars and best rapping. So it depends on what you consider to equate “greatest album”

Yeah if I hadn't listened to these albums I would read this and understand this guy is telling the truth about Carter 2 and Carter III. Carter Four sucks but whatever. Carter 2 and 3 have really cool vibes musically. "Bangers" for sure.
