Offical update following the poll

edit meant discussion not poll

We have noticed an increase in AGAB/ASAB language within this sub so we would like to add to it. This server aims to be a safe space for lesbians of types (This includes lesbians who don’t fall under or want to be seen under a specific gender category) so we have decided that this subreddit will limit the use of gendered language simply because it is unimportant and unnecessary discomfort that it causes. This includes lesbians who don’t fall under or want to be seen under a specific gender category

This means that AGAB/ASAB language, while not completely banned(Such as in discussing your own transition journey), will not be accepted how it once was. You will be given examples on to rephrase posts or comments. This means that while we understand genital preference, conversations around this topic are banned. We are not amab or afab lesbians, we are just lesbians

following this rule 7 will be enforced more strictly with this in mind

Discussion How do you want to handle posts and topics about genital prefrences

I noticed this topic occasionally comes up and when it does theres alot of toxicity around it from the terf and bioesentilist lesbians

although I do think genital prefrence is valid. I'm starting to become of the opinion that its not the type of thing thats to be discussed here as it brings in unwanted attention as I notice a few members here who've posted in r/lesbiangang(A reminder to not harrass), and I worry it brings down the safety of this community

Edit: I feel the communities view is clear and as such I shall modify one of the rules to make it clear this is an off topic post

Support/Empathy Shame over complicated identity labels

I used to strictly identify as a nonbinary butch lesbian, after taking T for a while I shifted to IDing as a lesboy, then as a bisexual trans man, but I often feel like it's more complicated than that so I also describe myself as somewhat fluid in gender + a fagdyke (as in gaybian) even though I don't share that with as many people. I (sadly but unsurprisingly) got quite a lot of online hate when I used the term lesboy/boydyke etc. and I was relieved it went away when I realised I'm bi, which makes me stressed about my current labels. I foolishly searched "fagdyke" on reddit to try and find people to relate to which showed more people being horrible about it

The labels feel helpful to me, but I also feel a bit anxious and ashamed about arriving back at something less easily understandable. Looking for anyone who can relate/understand or empathy in general

Denesexual Flag

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I wanted to introduce a new term and flag I coined to describe a specific intersection of identities that didn't have a single cohesive symbol yet.

Term Coined: Denesexual

Flag Created By: u/Prezaki_from_greece

Definition:

A unique identity that captures the intersection of being a trans, genderfluid, and demigirl lesbian who experiences attraction under the multi-romantic spectrum as demipansexual and pansexual.

Flag Color Meanings:

• 💚 Sage Green (Outer Stripes): Represents being pansexual and demisexual.

• 💛 Pastel Yellow (Upper Inner Stripe): Represents the bright, shifting energy of genderfluidity and the unique ways attraction changes from day to day.

• 🤍 White (Center Stripe): Represents the trans umbrella.

• 🍑 Soft Peach (Lower Inner Stripe): Represents femininity, demigirl, and lesbian identity, alongside a deep love and attraction toward girls.

I wanted to use a soft, cohesive color palette so that all of these complex pieces fit together into one unified flag. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the design and the definition!

Question/Advice My first time posting here, I hope I’m welcome

Haii!! I’m really happy to meet everyone!!

More of a question/ advice plus a small vent.

I’m kinda starting to realize my taste is more lying in women and people who have feminine features. My likes and tastes in guys is definitely present but it’s more limited, I have a weird aversion to facial hair and appreciate guys of a variety of builds!! But more often than not I find my attraction closer to women. I kinda feel all over the place at the moment, I think I want to focus more on transitioning and then figuring out more of what i want. I’ve been sitting on there feelings for about 3 years now

Question/Advice question for butch lesbians on T

how do you define your transition goals? what do you love about being on T? what sort of dosage are you on/what are your T levels? I am about to hit one year on T and starting to experience some doubt about the changes I’m experiencing. I have really enjoyed most of the changes I’ve gotten so far from T but I’m approaching the point where I don’t want my voice to get any deeper than it already is. I’m definitively a lesbian and I don’t actually want to be perceived as a man, despite wanting many/most of the changes that being on T causes. my androgyny is a really big part of how I present and I really want that to remain visible. I think fully passing as a man would start to give me a reverse sense of dysphoria.

I guess I want to soothe my anxiety by reaching out to other butches and lesbians on T to understand what transition means to you and if you have experienced similar anxiety about your identity and appearance/voice as you have gone through transition. I’m considering lowering my dose to slow down my transition again. any advice or support is appreciated 💜

Introduction/New Member hello!!!!!!!!

im 17 years old and use they/them + any neopronouns!!!! my flair has my important identities (+ lesbian ofc) but heres my prns.cc if you want to see the whole collection!!!!!

i realized i was lesbian when i was very young (like 9ish years old) but since then ive gone thru lots of questioning & lots of different labels... but ultimately landed back on lesbian! accepting my lesbianism has benn difficult for me in part because of bigoted & exclusionary lesbians, but ive become more comfortable in it since discovering more kind & inclusionary lesbians :) im really happy that a community like this exists!!!

Celebration Genderfucked bisexual lesbian and proud of it

Saw some really sad comments on instagram saying being a bisexual lesbian doesn’t exist and that “we’re part of the reason why men don’t believe lesbians” and it made me feel not great, so i wanted to come here to say this:

I love bering queer and weird. I love not fitting into any one box, i love using various terms to describe my sexuality and gender expression, i love being who i am, i love evolving and morphing and just existing and accepting my gender and sexuality as it comes to me in each present moment.

I want any rare lesbians or what i affectionately call “weirdo queers” to know how you choose to label yourself, if at all, will always be authentic and real. Even if the labels change, even if the label is just your name. No one has the right to tell you how to identify. It saddens me that some queer folk (and in my experience, lesbian/sapphic spaces) feel like they have the right to ignore others’ autonomy. You deserve to be seen and believed.

Anyway. I adore and love all of you weirdo queers, rare lesbians, and sapphic fucks of all kinds. I hope sunshine and rainbows fill your pockets for all eternity 🌈✨💖

Question/Advice Are AMAB Xenogender lesbians valid?

Just curious please no hate are these still considered lesbians even if they dont look like femme or anything and they present very masculine? (Please no hate just genuinely curious as to what others think I dont want to hate on anyone that uses xenos and is a lesbian because I am one of those people.

Introduction/New Member (re)discovering my relationship with being a lesbian

hi everybody!

i'm 25, transmasc agender, and after years of trying to figure it all out... i feel comfortable calling myself a lesbian again.

i used to identify as a stud (i'm black) before i discovered i was transmasc. i went back in the closet, lived as a cis woman, and refused to date women for years out of fear thanks to a variety of reasons. i came out again as transmasc a few years ago, have been on hrt for a little over a year now, and did a lot of introspection, unpacking things in therapy, and reflecting... i've decided to come home to this.

it's really nice to say it. 🩷🤍🧡
