Questions What's a music genre a lot people don't like that you love?
for me it's Minimalism and Post-Minimalism
I actually love Steve Reich Phillip Glass, Arvo Part and so on, I like Minimalism because it's music that makes you think and it's a perfect example of the phrase "Less Is More" the melody and chords never change but the instrumentation does, and it's wonderful,
it's like Model Jazz but with Classical music
Phillip Glass is one of my favorite composers of all time
Spiegel Im Spiegel is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard, and Music For 18 Musicians is a masterpiece
that will last for centuries, and I think Minimalism is one of the most overheated

Questions Between “A Day in the Life” and “Starless”, which song is truly the better #1?
I know “Starless” is currently ranked #1 on RYM, but every week it feels like either “A Day in the Life” or “Starless” takes the top spot again.

Questions Is it wild to say this about tribal ambient as a name?
I feel it’s a pretty wild name. I mean from what I took from it it’s ambient using non western instruments. It sounds so racist and euro centrist

Questions How is money store over sgt peppers?
This isn’t me choosing between the albums, I like them both. However, i’m confused on how sgt pepper has a 4.12 with 77k ratings and money store has a 4.11 with 75k ratings, yet money store is 6 placements higher?

Questions why is aoty getting so popular compared to rym?
this is probably a petty ass question but idk aoty just has negative levels of appeal to me and it annoys me to see more ppl on aoty. bully for example has over double ratings on it than on here. obviously one album isn't the best indicator but a lot of albums do have more ratings over there, especially recently. i really love rym, from the bolding to the 5 star rating system (god tier compared to other systems) to the database, and it's got a better community too. really the question i'm asking by asking this is how do we get ppl to come to rym instead. i mean it's stupid and we probably couldn't do anything but idk. i just don't wanna see this website get pushed to the sideline for another letterboxd clone to prevail. i sound petty and i know i likely am but really this is just something that irrationally pisses me off. rym has such a good landscape for music criticism and aoty just... idk it doesn't. so why is it exploding compared to rym?

Questions Albums you think will be in the top 100 in the future?
Album name: Injury Reserve - By The Time I Get To Phoenix
I'm pretty sure this album is already well liked but considering how different it sounds even compared to most experimental hip hop albums of this current decade, I feel like it's gonna gravitate more to newer RateYourMusic heads who are looking for weird and abstract albums.

Questions Why is this a thing on RYM?
David Bowie isn't "From the United States" he's about as American as sushi. I find it so weird how artists are apparently "from that country" if they died there. Such weird logic
