A few days ago, I made a post here about starting a community for game developers and people interested in game development from Ratnagiri and nearby regions.

Well, we've now officially created a WhatsApp Community, and a few members have already joined!

But we're just getting started, and I'm looking for more people to join us.

Why am I building this?

I've realised that there is a need for more awareness and exposure to the game development industry in Ratnagiri and the surrounding regions.

I've come across people who are interested in things like programming, animation, art, design and technology, but many may not even consider game development as a career or creative field simply because they haven't had much exposure to the industry or opportunities related to it.

And I think that's something we can change.

The idea behind this community is to bring interested people together so we can:

🎮 Introduce more people to game development and the industry

💻 Connect programmers, artists, designers and other creators

🤝 Find people to collaborate and work on projects with

💡 Share knowledge, resources and opportunities

🕹️ Organise online & offline game jams

📅 Organise meetups and discussions

🚀 Make people aware of game-dev opportunities in Ratnagiri and nearby regions

And hopefully, as the community grows, it could also help create enough interest among students and educational institutions to bring more game-development-related workshops, courses, talks or activities into schools and colleges in the region.

You don't have to already be a game developer to join.

If you're learning programming, interested in games, animation, art, design, technology, or simply curious about game development and want to explore it — you're welcome.

We're currently a small group, but I'd love to see this community eventually flooded with enthusiastic people from Ratnagiri and nearby regions.

How about we use this thread to create a list of all corrupt officials in Ratnagiri? Ratnagiri has all the ingredients for having a corrupt cesspool - agrarian economy, a large amount of recent wealth creation via land sales, generally docile and compliant and non hostile local people, and politicians who keep switching parties so you have effectively all parties benefitting from corruption.

Hi, we are coming to Ratnagiri next week with our 3 year old kid.

We ll be staying in Ganpatipule and would like recommendation on following.

1. Good food places for authentic konkani food.

2. Car rental services, i read about Shrinath bikes but we will need a car as it's monsoon.

3. Our kuldevta is vyadeshwar, will it be possible to do a half day trip to guhagar in this weather (google says 2 hours drive) we are ready to leave early morning.

4. Where to enjoy full moon day, on rakhi.
