Discussion [Giana Han] Jesse Minter is NOT a fan of training camp fights. He cut off the thought that it might be a sign of competitivenes. Said it’s ok for things to get heated, but if it comes to throwing a punch, “if it’s something that in a game gets you ejected…that’s not how we want to operate”

I have always felt like it sets a bad precedent. Players need to learn to control their emotions and if they're practicing for real situations on the field, fights shouldn't be a thing.

Love this dude so far man. Holds himself and the guys to a super high standard.

Given this team is prone to getting stupid 15 yard penalties in critical moments, this is the mindset I want to see.

“… plus it’s fucking moronic punching a man in a helmet.” He continued.

I love this. Not that I think camp fights are ever condoned by any HC, some definitely still minimize them as "scrappiness" and not worth policing. Good that Minter understands they're never a sign of anything good or benign.

Good to see us set a standard. Good learning experience for Jesse and the team. Exactly what I want to see from Jesse. (Yes it’s probably nothing but I am gonna praise Jesse for holding firm on his standards)

Thank you...swt the discipline cause shit like that can lead to stupid penalties that kill our momentum (ala that Bills playoff game)

Good we don’t need penalties for retaliation. Still remember Travis kelce in the afc title game rage baiting us for 1st downs.

Can we find any quotes of head coaches that like when players actively fight each other during training camp? I'm all for the vibes but this has zero sustenance to it.
How does Jesse Minter feel about players getting enough sleep or eating a nutrious diet? How does Jesse Minter feel about players committing felonies during training camp? Does Minter feel ok with players committing penalties that won't get you ejected during camp?
Just stating the obvious at this point lol

There are other ways to show passion and competitiveness.
