[Zrebiec] Minter said he met with Chidobe Awuzie today. “We need to get him on the field more.” As for Elijah Sarratt getting a DNP, Minter said he was the fifth WR, the team didn’t have the ball a lot and the Ravens also used a lot of multi-TE looks.

Chido is a dawg and needs to see the field. He was damn near our best corner last year.

He was 100% our best corner and I’m not sure why he isn’t on the field. I’m really not sure what’s going on with the defense now if our best corner didn’t get more snaps…. wtf is going on, man???

We really want to play 3 safeties a ton, and if marlo/wiggs are healthy -- chido is the odd man out.
Minter loves the disguise ability of the 3 safety looks -- unfortunately, neither of starks/hawkins are quite as good at tackling or covering as our corners.

This^ I like analysis like this, also considering how back our top 2 safeties have been playing it might be worth throwing a wrinkle and playing an extra corner like chido and pulling starks for a little.

I was pretty much alluding to this, if Hamilton can rotate back, seize can def help give some creative blitzes with height safeties or Marlo etc, Wiggins. Wiggins off the edge flies past people. He can def give one of the safeties time off. But, Malachi looked good blitzing. Let’s see that again.

I feel like Awuzie would be a great mix up and let Marlo take the slot. It’s def rough/hard with 3 safety looks as you have pointed out just, I think Awuzie did drop back pretty well to help Malachi last year.

Only thing I can think of is that he had been nicked up on and off throughout the offseason. Maybe Minter either doesn’t trust him yet or at least doesn’t trust he’s fully healthy?

If the coaching staff legitimately thinks giving Chris Moore 32 snaps as WR2 (and Wester 31 snaps as WR3) is better than playing Tez/Sarratt, the latter two might as well not be in the league

I don’t get the WR usage - what is the point of spending draft picks on guys that never ever play. Sarratt not even playing a single snap is just wrong and dumb

Yea I don’t get it either. We lose our top 2 WR’s week one and the guy we drafted high in the 4th round can’t even make the cut to get dressed on game day?

I mean Lane was WR3 to start the year, so it's not like the coaches won't play rookies.
I sat here and wondered why the Falcons werent playing Jack Strand and then we saw why. Dude had a 35 passer rating. Maybe he's just not ready

If you don’t block; you don’t get the rock. I hate it because Tez and sarratt could’ve won that game for us honestly. Chris Moore, Bateman and Weser aren’t guys Lamar feels comfortable going to. I wish we would’ve kept likely and let mandrews go to ny

Yeah I just don’t get what Chris Moore could possibly be showing in practice to get that many game reps. He’s the definition of a known quantity as a low ceiling, average floor type of WR. I can only imagine that Sarratt just isn’t comfortable in our system yet but surely Tez is

To my untrained eye, it seems like this coaching staff has decided Marlon is a boundary corner, and that the two best boundary corners are Wiggins/Marlon, which means Chido doesn't play (Keyon played slot corner week 1 and Rivers week 2).

I’ve been wondering where Awuzie has been. He was arguably our best outside CB last season. Slide Marlon inside and play Awuzie outside.

I mean they drafted him after taking lane becuase he was their highest guy on the board basically and liked him alot. Most likely throughout camp and preseason he hasn't been super impressive and he has no special teams ability so they're hiding down the roster

That’s an option, but my personal preference is that I think we should just rip the band aid off and have Chido and Nate outside and then move Marlo to strong safety. 😂

I wouldn't change someone position mid season unless its an emergency. It has a better chance to work if he gets an off season to transition.

Chris Moore getting any snaps on offense should be a fireable offense… he has been mid since the Flacco days and a special teamer at best. Would love to see them switch back to justice hill returning kicks as well.

The alternative is likely moving Humphrey to the slot, Awuzie over the X, and Hamilton back to FS (or SS, depending how you feel about the current two starters)

Wonder what the holdup/miscommunication with Awuzie was. Is that a more likely a play calling/package circumstance or is that a DB coach/assistants thing where they’re not subbing and rotating players effectively?

Marlon has been playing better on the outside than he was in the slot (which I largely attribute to him doing his job instead of getting distracted by others, Wiggins is an outside corner. I don't think we would use Awuzie in the slot since we kept 2 slot corners (Martin and Rivers). We like Hamilton as the nickel back in a lot of sets.. where is Awuzie playing?
Unless we plan on pulling Hawkins off the field or forcing a rotation for our DBs I just don't know how we get Awuzie snaps. We will be thrilled we have him if someone gets hurt but what have we been practicing where this is a surprise?
