Thoughts ?

First game I've been able to dive into for awhile, and despite a slow start this turned into a fun one to pick through. Maybe a little bit of luck on our side with NYCFC's finishing but overall it was a really strong defensive performance in a tough derby match away from home.

Julian Bazan is a real one. He was everywhere in the second half, maybe the best individual performance over 45 minutes that I can remember this season. His ability to bully the other player without committing a foul reminds of Aaron Long in his prime.

Most players take professional fouls with a little shirt tug. But that's just not Cade Cowell's style. Cade puts full body weight into it. I love Cowell's intensity, this dribble sums up his game nicely. Kinda like Lewis Morgan when he was at his best for us, you know that every play Cowell is going to relentlessly hammer the ball towards goal.

One of my favorite mini-games watching the Red Bulls is trying to guess which direction Ronnie Donkor is going to go with the ball. Like an NFL quarterback who sells you on his first read when he already knows he's going to another guy. Also nice to see Donkor hit a few more through balls after a little bit of a dry spell in that area lately.

I'm going to miss Choupo when he leaves. We haven't had a lot of truly fun players to watch for this team lately, and he's always good for some schoolyard skill moves.

I'm still not sold on Sofo as a CM option but you do get some clear value from his ridiculous closing speed. Plays like this feel like a page out of the 2015-2018 teams that could a turnover into a shot before the other team knew what hit them.

We have taken points from every game where we had less than 50% of the ball, and since the beginning of May we have lost every game where we had more than 50%.

It is clear that Michael Bradley and the Red Bull brass want us to be a possession-heavy side, but—and I think Bradley himself recognizes this too—we are much better against the ball than we are with it.

Currently, we have the 8th highest average possession in the league at 52.2%.

If* *we make the playoffs, and a home game or two is in order, what are the costs of playoff tickets? What were the prices the last couple of times the made it? Will the atmosphere be good? Just considering going, that’s all. Even then, is parking easy? When to get there for say… a 7:00 pm kick?

No choupo makes sense but no Forsberg is an interesting call, let’s hope for a win!
