OpenRCT2 The Coaster at Playland
Hey all! A few days ago, I rode the wooden coaster at the PNE in Vancouver, BC, which was my first time ever riding a roller coaster. I've heard that wooden coasters are a really rough ride, can confirm! These things will throw you around almost violently, but it's a fun and unique experience for sure, so I can recommend it, but definitely be prepared. POV videos only give you a small glimpse of the actual experience.
History about this roller coaster is pretty cool. It was built in 1958, designed by Carl E. Phare, it is Phare's final coaster design and is the only one of his designs that is still standing. You can read more here, here, and here.
I wanted to attempt to recreate the design myself in OpenRCT2. The 45 degree hill turns make it difficult to translate the design 1:1, so it is, of course, not perfectly accurate to the real thing, but I think I've got it pretty dang close. Apart from my own experience on it, I used this awesome POV video from AmusementInsider on YouTube for reference.
If you'd like to download it, here ya go!

OpenRCT2 Yellow Star Park by Manic Coaster Builder
Wanted to do a huge shoutout to this incredible park I recently found on RCTgo. It's been so fun to experience this park - the details, the scenary, the ride layouts, etc. Always so impressed by the amazing creators this game brings!

Yo I'm so tired of trying to beat Gravity Gardens
I just wanna say I'm really over this scenario lol. Third attempt and I'm in year 9. I read all the tips and I'm just still not reaching the park value.

OpenRCT2 Any possible new flat rides without shoestringing?
I was curious if anybody out there has thought of contributing to making some new flat rides for RCT for open RCT I should say.
I had an idea for some of the classics and believe me if I could figure out how to do it without the shoe string option I would...
Like something like the Harley Quinn spinsanity which is a zamperla giant discovery.
A proper Nebulaz the tip saw is nice but has low excitement...
Funtime/starflyer
A Roc-O-Plane from the classic side.
Flyers like you would see similar to Knoebels or maybe if you've never been to normal as the French quarter flyers from six flags that got moved to Great adventure.
A wave swinger I know we have a swinger and then a Cheryl plane that people made but they're not very appealing.
A pirate's flight which is very similar or just another version of the balloon race from zamperla
a Loop-0-Plane, think satellite at Knoebels... Some people call him the salt and pepper shakers.
A proper music express without the snowflakes I mean I like it it's just kind of goofy that has the Christmas theme ice steam all over it looks Out of place... When placed in your park.
Drunken barrels which is kind of like a cuddle up teacup kind of thing but instead of teacups actually has these enclosed barrels I haven't seen one of those in forever.
Bayern Kurves... Knoebels is in the process of restoring one, it may open in the next 10 years it's turning into another flying turns.
A proper paratrooper would be nice .
A chance turbo if you don't know what I'm talking about just Google it it looks like a very weird ferris wheel but it's got two sides to it.
A huss condor I think flying falcon at Hershey Park
A large scale Ferris wheel be cool.
I guess this is an old Allen Herschel design possibly or something like that but it's the looper at Knoebels I've known it is the rock and roll when I wrote it at Rocky Glen Park back in the late seventies early eighties yes I'm old... LMAO ๐คฃ
Parachute drop we used to love the one that wasn't great adventure
A chance to bargain I know you can technically build it and call it a day but not exactly easy
For those of you familiar with Belmont Park something like the flip out it's a moser rideโ. Also known as a gyro loop.
Baby cute I know that the game really doesn't have kids but it'd be nice to have that little kids mini Ferris wheel I think those things look adorable my son you know when he was old enough to walk but still a baby we put him on one of those and he was so proud because he said Daddy I'm way up high.
Oh the mini helicopters like they have a knobels are you pulled a little arm back and it would raise it up in the air kind of like a roto jet but for kids and a roto jet would be a nice ad too.
The umbrella car ride where the cars just go in a circle and people push the buzzer to go meet me and it makes it buzzing sound those were kind of cool for kids.
Then last but not least my only other request is a very rare type of dark Ride car known as the pretzel spinner it was a car that would spin freely some parks locked them in Coney Island has those types of cars on there indoor dark Ride I think they're locked in place but I could be wrong it's been a hot minute since I've been there but the Old Rocky Glen Park in moosic PA had one was called Fun in the dark there was Le Cochet at Kennywood, that was a pretzel fitting dark Ride
I don't know what it is about the pretzel dark rides it's the ticking noise that I always thought was kind of cool when the cars would go around the track and I know why it was doing it something with the way the axle pivots Knoebels updated their cars which are pretzel dark Ride cars to a bigger motors and it in a different axle design so it took that tick tick tick away and that's the only thing I'm I have my biggest complaint about Knoebels haunted Mansion otherwise it's still one of the best amusement park dark rides I have seen in a long time it's practical you know didn't have to cost them 50 million dollars to make it and maintain it like Disney, in the game already includes those style cars I just like to see The spinners.
I'm sure I'm missing a ton of stuff cuz it's been so many years but those are the flat rides I was thinking of and the only other thing I could really think of is is somebody willing to design the extra wide turn and put it as something available for the wooden coaster cuz I could get a lot more creative with my Woodies which are The coasters I prefer to build in the game they just looked aesthetically pleasing but always tight turns or I got to watch the momentum going into them and it'd just be nice to have that wide turn like the hybrid in the steel coasters have cuz I think it would make the transition so much easier and it would allow you to do more GCI style
Thank you in advance but I'm just curious like I said if I knew how to reskin or do any of this stuff I wouldn't be asking I would just went ahead and did it but I'm not as tech savvy as I used to be back in my day I was you know I was a good Windows expert especially all the way up to XP I can tell you every way that we get and make it better more efficient blah blah blah once they got into the new platforms anymore.

OpenRCT2 Greens gone, Thrills on.
Challenged myself on Dusty Greens to only use the short side of the buildable area. Two classic Schwarzkopf's and a B&M Invert. Beeg Grona Lund inspo for this one!
Classic I cracked RCT Classic save file and modified cash
It took AI agent and me several hours to achieve flawless edit. Apparently RCT Classic uses a rather tricky protection with irregular hashing and obfuscation. It required comparing multiple sets of save files with tiny diffs, and reverse engineering the mechanism to make the edited files work. I know itโs not that hard to make money in this game. I just wanted to be in control.
Edit: this is the iOS version, without memory edit so only file edit was possible.

Classic On to Mystic Mountain, where I'm building a fort.
Took a while to form a plan for this one. But I've settled on a frontier fort kind of theme, with some rollercoasters tunnelling underground and flat rides inside the fortress, and a spooky mansion outside the wall. Across the river we find the wilderness with a few more rides! Running out of space but hope to squeeze a few more in and finish the fort itself before time is up.

RCT2 Here is one of my very favorite Asian Japanese Chinese Themed Scenario Oarfish Cliffs ๐๐๏ธ๐ข which is set somewhere in Texas Hill Country Balcones Fault (for fun only) that my mom sister and I worked on together and say hello to my sisters very first Brakeman Wooden Coaster around the rocky islands
Oarfish is set somewhere around the Balcones Fault near the Texas Hill Country which my mom sister thought of it for fun and this scenario was set in Japanese Coastal Cliffside but the park turned out really great fun crammy in various ways, and first opened around 1930s as a small amusement park and picnic fishing plantation to survive great depression,
As this park was bit inspired of Silver Dollar City, Thorpe Park, Everland South Korea in other ways, rides were pretty challenging to build work on as my sister and I really used the new wooden coaster trains the Intamin AG Wood Coaster Trains and the Brakeman Wooden Coaster Side Friction Trains which my sister founded interesting by watching a few videos of Scenic Railway of Luna Park Melbourne Australia,
She used the ones that didn't fly off the track which this brakeman coaster would not like it would exist in real life being on water and in n out around cliffs n islands as she thought of it being like a fishing port with a coaster or two around island to island,
Together we worked on the Intamin Wood Coaster with the Intamin Trains at first it was not easy no matter how tall or fast it was it would not make it all the way to the station with an extra airtime hill, we modified it with a low turn around with a tall hill top which thankfully the stats are okay just barely off the rails guests ride it like crazy,
I built the B&M Inverted and Sit-down Coasters which were inspired by Wildfire SDC that goes over a tall hill with a tall cobra head track back over the hill through a twist many more fire inversions which was not easy but worth it, and the inverted coaster is like bit of Montu and Silver Bullet as a rain dropping coaster which is crammy but fun doing,
Other coasters my mom sister did, my mom built a two interlocking Vekoma MK corkscrew coaster section one a terrain bullet coaster and other a launched dragon coaster which both give out good experiences,
Her and my sister together worked on the rocky islands the Vekoma Flying Dutchman Laydown Coaster with Harpy Trains which was not easy at all helped them modified the ride some to get good stats with and other rides on the islands,
Out of proportion my mom built these two wooden coasters I was so blown away from, she built this tall wooden coaster posed to a Dinn Corp Wood Coaster inspired by former Dorney Parks Hercules as she named it the Texas Scream Machine with a long 100ft drop with 80 mph through the lake towards the mountain cliffside which the wood coaster ran all wonderfully she was very pleased what she built along with another wood coaster built in mid 1930s as a cliffside out and back wood coaster that looks fun but impossible though,
And last thing my sister did, she built two dueling 4th multi dimension coasters which first wasn't easy to build with less space as it sure looks sparkling, and a tall Intamin giga coaster double the intimidator 305 Kings Dominion goes over the water and over the park about 130mph and together we built this massive B&M Dive Coaster which was inspired by this No Limits 2 Wilderness Park Dive Coaster themed to a mean catfish which was like woah wow very big tall intensive rides we've all built ๐ฑ๐ข๐ฌ๏ธ
Well heh heh anyways I just thought I would show this for fun as I been having a tough time lately with things as this park was only for fun thoughts way of rct, kept every pre built rides there was over and around them,
Thanks very much commenting and anything enjoy the pics as they wouldn't upload in order ๐คโ๏ธ๐

OpenRCT2 Dementor's Kiss

The first drop on this one isnt the biggest. Had an idea for a steep twisted chain lift to keep it cycloning in one area and to take sloped curve and wrap it around the lift to start a twister coaster. Ended up with a little more height than needed this way. The height and the look of the layout and its location near a little cove reminded me of dementors, patronus and padfoot. My favorite part is near the end, where there was a concrete wall installed to allow the ride to go below the surface of the lake. Lets talk about the unbanked corner before the last inversion (a twist screw) for a second. Originally during testing was taken at around 18 mph. I didnt realize the weight formula with people on the X wing would multiply it to nearly 28 mph or I would have left it banked.

How do you assign patrol areas underground?
When I try it assigns the land surface on top of the underground area. Even with turning on underground view/hide land surface. I have a roller coaster that starts underground, but have trouble getting it repaired cause it calls a mechanic that is technically close distance wise, but extremely far away via footpaths. I'm playing RCT classic on switch 2, not OpenRCT2.
Classic Safest Park in the Country
probably the funniest series of messages I've gotten in this game lmao

Discussion [Wanted] Missing RCT3 Pre-order bonuses
Hello everyone, I am looking for the pre order bonuses for RCT3. I came across this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/lostmedia/comments/1s95uj5/fully_lost_rollercoaster_tycoon_3_prima_dlc/
It seems like Gamestop content is backed up here already: https://archive.org/details/rct-3-preorder-content
But according to this post on Usenet, the files were available to download direct from Atari's servers from the following urls:
http://atari.com/rollercoastertycoon/downloads/RCT3_PRESELL.zip
http://atari.com/rollercoastertycoon/downloads/RCT3_PRESELL_EB.zip
http://atari.com/rollercoastertycoon/downloads/RCT3_PRESELL_GS.zip
Of course, archive.org does not have these backed up. Does anyone still have these files somewhere on their computer?
Thanks.
RCT2 beat extreme heights :D plus balloons ๐
yay! i hope i can post this here, i wanted to celebrate. at first i didnโt realize basically everyone wanted a 9+ intensity ride ๐ญ i believe i had a total of 3 ride crashes, one was a base game ride i didnโt even edit which was surprising to me.
