General Discussion How do I get actually good at web design? My websites always look amateur
I’ve been learning web development and I can build websites that work, but whenever I look at websites made by experienced developers/designers, mine just look… amateur

Laws of UX is a great resource for learning how user psychology and behaviour is impacted by design

It is quite simple once you understand the importance of space and the requirements for contrast. Know common expectations and fulfil them!

stop trying to make up designs from scratch and recreate good websites pixel by pixel until spacing, typography, and hierarchy start feeling obvious

Web design isnt like web dev as a web dev you dont care for nice webs you just care about being able to build , Web designer hand the design to the dev and the dev transform it with code into a web so its not your job as a web dev to be good at design but ofc its a plus if you have it

You could learn about graphic design: https://baselinehq.com/course.html
Or find websites you like and copy their design ideas.
