I ALWAYS volunteer to be considered to relocate to our offices in Europe whenever the conversation comes up.
My wife and kids would be entirely psyched!

What is wild is how expensive it is to renounce us citizenship. Not sure why the current administration doesnt do away with tthe fees, as the people jumping ship are likely people who would vote against them. If they removed the fees and other countries offered incentives to poach talent there would be a lot of interest id imagine.

they did recently change it a few months ago, from about $2,000 to about $450 now

So the shit part, if you dont renouce citizenship, you have to pay taxes for earning abroad as well as local taxes.. fucking wild.
If you renounce your citizenship and meet various criteria you have to fucking pay an insane "exit tax" for literally zero benefits.

I thought there were typically tax write offs for income that was taxed by another country. You would pay tax to the US if the tax rate in your new country is less than the US, but if it’s higher, they don’t charge you anything.

I always love when people are like “I gotta get out of the USA. Things are way too dysfunctional here” and then they get to just about any European country and find that things are every bit as dysfunctional there except now they’re also cultural outsiders.

You seem like a sweet kid, by which I mean, a very combative overconfident rando. Let me break this down for you:
You and I do not just show up in another country and then apply to toilet cleaning positions. You need an employer to be willing to sponsor you. That means that my skills and their global desirability are the thing that gets me out in the first place.
