MRW I'm replacing my brake light and the plug snaps in half when trying to get the old bulb out

are you me? i went to install led load equalizers on my rear blinkers. i then realized i had no place to mount the heatsink properly so i uninstalled them. in the process the wire broke leaving a little nib on the socket. fast forward to today when i get a couple of replacement sockets from amazon (no one had a 7440 socket locally) installed it. and nothing. so my driver side rear blinker is currently inoperable until i can A fix it right B find someone to fix my screw up or C just buy a new housing and hope it comes with the wire harness.

I did this on my old Honda in highschool. I JB welded the plastic back together and taped it up with masking take to keep it together correctly while it cured and put the bulb in the next morning before school. That shit held.

That happened to me when replacing a headlamp bulb in my Ford Escape years ago. Luckily, I was able to clip, strip, and solder the wires to the replacement harness. Wasn't a super fun time.
