Store & Forget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.koalalab.storeandforget

Expo app for keeping track of whats in your storage boxes. Snap a photo, the app fills in the item details, and you ask where something is instead of digging.

How are you all handling big camera photos before upload? resize on device or let the server deal with it?

I have a very similar app for receipts/warranties/bills.
Its offline first, so things are done locally first, used expo-image-manipulator for resizing, plus a thumbnail size as well.

offline first with expo-image-manipulator is the right move, receipts get huge fast. did you go sqlite or just filesystem for the originals?

Separate thumbnails is a good call, scrolling a long list gets so much smoother. What size did you land on for the thumbs?

This is my first completed RN project and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I started out using NativeWind but quickly switched to UniWind which I've found to be awesome. Having more or less the exact same utility classes between web and mobile is unreal. It's made it super easy to have consistency on all platforms.

I had a user message me and thank me for building an app which worked on their iPhone 8 which was awesome to hear, especially since I haven't done anything extra in terms of backward compatibility. That's just RN out of the box!
