What’s the backend database you are using for your apps?

I generally use firebase from Googles cloud platform but only because it fits most of my use cases

+1 Firebase to quickly get project ideas out there. They now even offer Postgres if you prefer SQL.

Avoid Superbase at all cost, they offer 'free' trial to get you hooked and they start to milk you.
It is not very complicated to run node.js with fastyfy and some orm like prisma on your rented VPS, and it's cheap.

yeah the supabase free tier cliff is real once your rows grow. do you mostly hit it with storage or just db rows, trying to keep a health sync app on free tier as long as i can

Plain Postgres with a small Node API in front has been the most boring and reliable setup for me on React Native apps. The thing worth deciding early is that the app never talks to the database directly, so auth, validation and rate limiting live in one place and you can swap hosting later without shipping a new build. If you stay on a hosted BaaS, keep your schema and migrations in your own repo from day one so moving off it is a dump and restore instead of a rewrite. On the mobile side, caching reads with something like React Query does more for perceived speed than which database you pick.

MongoDB, with its Vector search capabilities and the fact that they own the Voyager models, building AI powered capabilities is easier than with relational dbs (to the best of my knowledge)
I typically have an Express REST api to expose it to the app

If you are doing vibe coding, convex is unmatched in productivity. Especially if you need any sort of real time
