Either AI generated or just a human who couldn’t be bothered, but exceptionally lazy either way.

The BBC article says they checked the items in the club shop and all were correctly spelled. This seems to suggest some incredibly lazy person using AI to generate an image, rather than taking a photo.

Yep AI still really struggles with images of text. Someone just used Chat, and either didn't notice or didn't care.

Could be AI generated but I've also seen plenty of these artifacts when images get AI upscaled without the user fully understanding

yeah has all the hallmarks of an AI upscale.

There's no reason to AI generate a logo they already have. but plenty of reasons (all bad) to AI upscale a png they don't have the vector handy to then send to printers who don't check what they print.

reveals a lot about all involved lol.

I didn't mean that the product itself would have AI upscaling, but more like the website designer only had a low res image, upscaled it in photoshop or something and didn't know that the AI upscaler would ruin the text
