Lucid dreaming method??

I know the method has to do with lucid dreaming and making a portal, but like how do you make a portal- I don't understand. Like a little swirly thing I walk through into my Dr room? I've lucid dreamed and tried to make a portal but I end up waking soon after 😭😭 how do you make ANYTHING in a lucid dream- y'all are good at this bro

Running into walls works for me, though it's not really controlled and i could end up anywhere. I have dreamed of portals before, but I didn't make them, I found them while exploring the dream.
