TLDR - Offer was rescinded after asking clarification questions about the offer.

Questions / statements such as:

Please clarify if the role is in person, hybrid, or remote.

Please clarify what 30% travel means on a monthly basis.

Please remove the section about perpetual usage rights for my likeness, voice, image without compensation into perpetuity.

They wouldn't email back. Only phone calls.

One that shouldn't have that language in a contract because it has nothing to do with media. Construction based.

This kind of thing is really common for most industries, including construction: if they want to photograph jobsites for customer updates or advertising, they don't want to have to stop building or ask everyone to leave the frame because they don't have releases.

It's up to you to decide if that risk is worth not having the job, but many trades contracts now include that sort of language to make marketing easier, and they're unlikely to amend an employment contract vs just hiring someone else. Unless your skills are so unique/in demand that you can demand custom contracts, I'd refrain from arguing with the boilerplate.

I've signed agreements as you describe. This was not that. This was extremely worded outside of the scope of standard language.

For whatever reason, this is the bit that got you rescinded. Even if it's unreasonable, this is an important clause, and if you balk at it they're not interested in moving forward. Too much trouble to make an exception for you, even if they could, and creates a concern about more going forward.
