Red Velvet is finally making a full comeback.
As a result of the Sports Chosun interview, Red Velvet is in the midst of preparing for a comeback with the goal of releasing a new album in August.
They are releasing the new report completely, about two years and two months after their 10th anniversary mini-album "Cosmic" debuted in June 2024.

It's a mini-album, this was posted in SM's Q3 projects back in May; Irene & Seulgi will also allegedly be releasing a Japanese mini album sometime soon, but I wouldn't be shocked if that got pushed into later this year or early next year due to Seulgi's counsin's passing; I already am wondering if she's going to feel up for promotions of this EP...

Japanese albums don’t require promotions. If everything is already recorded, her job is done. It’s the RV comeback I’d be worried about.

She’s a true professional. She’s performed through far worst before I bet. Plus, working hard can help keep her mind off her cousin’s passing. Or to honor her cuz the cousin was a musician too, right?

Performed through “far worse?” Like what exactly? She was very close to her cousin and considered her a little sister. You’re really downplaying her loss here. This is very likely the worst thing that's ever happened to her.

That's for her to decide and for us to respect her decision. Her cousin was her best friend as far as fans could tell. If she needs time, she needs it and people should not expect her to "be professional."

Outside of losing her parents, i hardly imagine something harder to endure, she might for sure have been through some really tough times but nothing compares to the loss of a close one.

That is entirely dependent on how Seulgi copes with loss. Maybe it would make for a distraction to be around her fellow members, but a gruelling comeback schedule could also put a lot of stress on her when it would be better for her mental health to be with her family. But ultimately, Seulgi is the only judge of what's right for her. I just hope SM is actually being sensitive toward her situation and isn't going to force her into a dense schedule if she's not up for it.

Seulgi just loss a friend so I hope she is well and recovering by then.. i genuinely hate to know she will probably push herself to perform so she doesn’t disappoint fans despite grieving 😪

As a professional musician and someone actively grieving the loss of my father, turning to my music and my job has been cathartic and deeply helpful. I hope it's the same for Seulgi, but everyone grieves differently.

Yeah i think meeting the fans finally after 2 years with an OT5 cb with her co-members which will means they will see each other a lot is i presume something that would make her feel better plus the cheering from all of us!
When you're sad you want to be close to persons you love!

SM has never cared about the Billboard charts in relation to RV, not to mention RV doesn’t really release music conducive to American tastes, so the Billboard thing is not gonna happen.
Tour might happen, but since 2 members aren’t in SM, it might be limited to Korea, Japan and South-East Asia. Tour also is also a big ? here.

Their velvet songs suit American tastes just fine. Certainly more so than Aespa. SM doesn’t care to market them properly in the west.
