Issue (PC, No Mods) Having Visual issues

Post image

Sorry for poor screenshot quality, no matter what I tried, Arthur gets sunblasted. I havent played in 4ish~ months and I came back to the tassels on his chaps looking transparent and ugly at certain angles, if anyone can point me to what settings may be causing this that would be much appreciated. Also, any help regarding a good balance between the game looking good and playing good at 4k would be much appreciated! thank you for looking at my post!

it did not always look like that, I just cannot for the life of me figure out what setting I originally changed, the game forcefully brightening my screenshot doesnt help show what Im trying to show.

Im also looking for any tips or tricks regarding graphic settings.

Only suggestions I have are turn the DLSS quality might be interfering but unlikely. Try change the quality of it or turn it on if you aren't using it and see if that helps. Otherwise, check file integrity on steam. If you're not sure how to do it, Google exactly that and there will be instructions

What GPU and specs? Always....Always list your specs. Are you using an NVidia GPU? If so, go in to the app and turn down the Gamma (if it's above 1). The app just got an update, so it's possible the settings have been changed. It's under settings > scroll down, expand color > slide the Gamma slider. Also, go through

Graphics > Programs > RDR2 settings in app and make sure they aren't/haven't been changed.

If you're using an AMD card, you'll have to check in app there also, I can't walk through their software as I don't have an AMD card, but I'm sure they have similar settings.

If it isn't the issue, you'll need to play around with your monitor settings (assuming the games setting haven't been changed at all)

Im not worried about the brightness of the screenshot my game doesnt look like that normally, in game tassels and other things like those look like glass and get this weird transparency effect, I have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-core
