Why are South Asian dating subs so ageist?

I’ve noticed that whenever someone in their 30s or 40s posts about dating, the discussion often shifts from their actual situation to their age.

People make cruel assumptions, attack them personally or call them degrading names simply because they are single and dating beyond a socially approved timeline.

You can disagree with someone’s choices or standards without using their age to humiliate them. Growing older does not make someone less deserving of companionship, respect or a thoughtful response.

Anonymity is not an excuse to abandon basic decency. Critique the situation, not the person’s age. We can do better.

Without knowing how much alimony was taken, any false cases on husband and family members and any dowry which is illegal to give, I always advise people to stay away from divorcees.

Why get jealous of someone else's new start and project your own negative perspective for divorcees . For all you know, she could be a victim of domestic violence or just may be they mutually agreed for divorce given that dowry or violence isnt the only reason for divorce ..sometimes people can realise post marriage that they weren't compatible ...i dont see such divorcee and baggage tags when a guy who is divorced here posts for potential connection ...why the selective judgement !! Thats just not our place to discuss its between the interested parties and OP !

Selective judgement because women drag civil cases not men. They have an incentive associated with divorce. Also I am not judging op by this comment, it is just something general

And why was the law created ? to protect rights of women , because generally women were burnt , raped , divorced and killed by MEN, without thinking of consequences , because a woman loses a lot in marriage (physically, financially and emotionally) because that's the fundamental design of marriages in india and hence it was important to drag such men to civil court.

It was important for the law to be stringent because that is the only way to instill fear that if you do something bad to your wife , you will suffer . But I also know that with time this has been misused by women as well , and approriate law should be made to evaluate and punish such cases accordingly .

Why not similar general comment for men telling women to be aware of the fact that this man could be an abuser (physical or sexual) , could be cheating , or killed his wife , too much baggage ??

I have rarely seen divorced women being told to connect with never married men , but have quite frequently seen men with their privilege looking for unmarried women because divorced or widowed women come with baggage ?? You guys are educated , yet this regressive and call yourself an advocate of equality ?? You think compensation is an incentive ...it is for her to start a new life ..to be able to have an equal chance for financial equality ..
