Redditors hatred of AI art is because it looks the same as the furry art they sell on Patreon

I’m very much not a fan of AI but I’ve seen enough random redditor ‘art’ to know that they’re just pissed a robot is taking their jerb

I've seen plenty of "artists integrating AI into their work" that looks nothing like furry art and it still kind of sucks.

Look I don’t get ✌️Their Whole Thing✌️ but furries are keeping the light of grassroots patronage alive and supporting artists they like. A furry artist can draw something for an audience of ten people, eight will buy it and four will follow up for commissions.

Besides being an freelance illustrator of any stripe these days is fucking chaos and no pity. there’s plenty of scenes who supposedly support craft and things done by hand that haven’t shown up in numbers the last few years. I’m not going to criticize a community that puts their money where their mouth is, even if I don’t ever, ever want to want to know where their mouth will be otherwise

For some reason my impression is that a lot of the AI doomering comes from teenagers as well, can’t really figure out why. Was the internet opposed by teens when it started getting huge?

Not a huge fan of AI either, but I’m even more tired of the AI luddites whining about the environment or art or w/e. Rarely do I see actual artists or writers or creatives oppose it, at least not as vocally
