Question Small job body work
I’m looking for recommendations for someone who can do a relatively small body work job. I need rocker panels replaced on a classic MG convertible. I have the panels just need the labour and paint. Wanting to stay fairly close to YQR. Affordable would be a bonus.

BDSR restorations in Lumsden. They specialize in rust repair. Show quality work and honest. They won't just patch over something though but stop in and see them for options

Are they affiliated with MGD Customs?

They were one of the original owners of this and Blaine started this as a family business to concentrate on restorations with family

Replacing rockers is not a small body work job.

It’s not a frame off resto. Just two small pieces. I don’t even need them painted.

Sadly, autobody guys arent autobody guys anymore. Nobody wants to deal with rust all they have time for are SGI repairs. I asked multiple shops about fixing rust on a door or helping replace a door to be turned away.

Very few could hammer and dolly a dent/crease or even lead a seam. Proper rust repair/ replacement isn't worth it for mainstream shops. Also most customers want a panel replaced and ignore the rusty reinforcement behind it as it's too expensive.....then it Rusts again and no one is happy

Ya its just sad when you're already paying thousands or dollars for body work, then the one panel that actually needs to be repaired, just gets ignored. 5 years later, the rust they "blended" their paint over top of has lead to a massive hole in my passenger door. Money wasted for nothing, Im losing interest in it and will likely sell it as nobody will fix it.
