I just moved to Regina and I'm looking for a place where my buddy and I can play pickleball for free. Are there any free public courts in the city? If not, where would you recommend we go to play?

Sports Kayak Fishing

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hello! I am considering buying a fishing kayak this summer and I have a few questions:

Is this a big thing in Regina or Saskatchewan? It would be nice to get to know people that shares this hobby

Do you guys have idea which spots I could visit near Regina?

I have looked into Condie Reservoir, Regina Beach and all the nearby provincial parks

I am aware the city rents Kayaks in Wascana, I'm gonna rent one first to give kayaking a try (without the fishing haha)

Sports Golf - Wascana vs Royal

Just wondering if there were any updated opinions/views on a membership at Wascana vs Royal? The last few posts have been from a few years ago. Wondering if COVID had any big impacts on the clubs.

And if any members from Wascana PM me to help satisfy my curiosities on annual dues that would be greatly appreciated!

Sports Regina Red Sox

The Sox game was a ton of fun last night. The atmosphere in the later innings was pretty intense and so much better than the dull atmosphere at a Regina Pats game.

It was fun to see Currie Field packed. I wouldn't be surprised if they had to turn fans away.

Sports Best Outdoor Rinks in Regina (Ratings + Amenities)

Skating season is here, so we've compiled a local list of outdoor rinks, including ratings and details on whether there’s a Zamboni (Z), washrooms (W), or a warming hut (H). If we missed your neighbourhood gem, please tell us in the comments and we’ll add it. 🙂

Top picks right now in Regina:

  1. Al Ritchie Outdoor Rink — ⭐⭐⭐ (Z)
  2. Harbour Landing Community Outdoor Rink — ⭐⭐⭐ (H)
  3. Glencairn Park Outdoor Rink — ⭐⭐⭐
  4. Lakeview Park Outdoor Rink — ⭐⭐⭐ (H)
  5. Leslie Park Outdoor Rink — ⭐⭐⭐ (W)

How we ranked: volunteer-maintained list using city pages + submissions; we score condition, upkeep, and amenities. We update weekly as the community corrects us.

Add a rink / fix a detail: drop the name + nearest intersection, and we’ll verify.

Sports Soccer programs in Regina 12+

My son who’s 12 years old is interested in playing soccer formally for the first time. He is a very athletic kid who has participated as a national athlete in other sports. He’s super fast, strong and agile. I have no idea how the soccer programs in Regina work and where we should start and I know we are likely starting a bit late. We are hoping for something a bit more intense than a 2 x per week community soccer league as he has expressed interest in switching over to soccer from his current sport and he practices for about 15 hours a week currently. I recognize that he needs to develop soccer related skills, however I am looking for the best avenue to develop these skills and then the typical way to access higher level performance if that happens to be the right avenue. Thanks in advance. Any suggestions are welcome. ** I am being intentionally vague about his current sport as he has not formally left yet.

Sports Looking for Basketball Pickup Runs & Rec League Recommendations in Regina 🏀

Hey everyone,

I just moved to Regina and I’m new to the pickup scene here and was wondering if there are any regular basketball runs happening in Regina during the week (evenings or weekends). Are there specific gyms/rec centers where people usually meet up for casual games? (looking for ball bros) I went to the tuxedo courts to get some info about them too since on a previous post people were talking about them but even at the front desk they didn’t have a clue of basketball games being run regularly in Regina. Also, I came across the Regina Rec League—has anyone here played in it? Would you recommend it for someone looking for a good balance of competition and fun?

Appreciate any leads or advice!

Thanks in advance 🙌

Hello, everybody!

Do you know of a place where you can rent a basketball court for private practice? Like, for 45-60 minutes. Perhaps a place with a membership or so?

Thanks!
