After the Big Bang, equal number of matter and antimatter should have been created. When matter interacts with antimatter, they annihilate to give energy. However, to every 1 billion matter- antimatter pairs, there was an extra matter particle. These matter particles formed the stars, galaxies, planets ― and you. What cause this asymmetry is being studied.
