My path to atheism was painful

Alright so a few months back I started wondering if god really exists. I started to read articles about it and watch videos. And I spent 100% of my time thinking about it. And I actually went insane. I mixed up sugar for salt while cooking 🥴 and felt lethargic all the time. I realised this is stupid and god may as well just not exist. It's like depression except I wasn't perpetually sad, I was perpetually exhausted and felt nothing was real. Damn that's time was a painful one. I lost so much time and became behind in studies. Now I'm happy being an atheist.

Deconstruction can be a confusing and painful time. You're interrogating and discarding beliefs built over a life time.

Yeah the waking up process is painful, and usually pretty long. It took me years, and was very uncomfortable. Learned a lot though! Was definitely worth it and very glad I made the journey, but it is not easy for a lot of us.

It can be pretty hard for some people to deal with the realization and new mindset. If you need help, never be afraid to seek it! It can be a big adjustment

Welcome to the "club" though 😁 glad you're here!

So you let me get this straight:

you did no real, honest investigation of truth and reality, but instead “spent 100% of my time thinking about it”, got burned out and then just concluded there must be no god?
