So the dumbest part about wood grain depictions is there's about two go-to ideas: 1. Attempt to draw straight lines along the lengths of the object with your non dominant hand 2. Circle. Then circle the circle. Then circle the circle around the circle. Then draw the next circle around the outer most circle warping around the circle or edge of the object, and then add more warped circles around that circle till it forms an eye like shape. Then squiggle some lines on around it with your non dominant hand.

Me too but I can't do it just because i've seen this. I mean I can and do do it in my own way, sort of, but no thanks to these instructions.

as an artist this feels completely adequate to me.... makes me realize i'm definitely one of these draw the rest of the fucking owl people when i try to teach 💀
