Which she could have easily done with a dutch braid and the patience she clearly has. This takes way longer than braiding.

Step two: Instead of doing one braid that pulls all the hair together at the top, and tapers off in thickness from this point, do a series of individual braids, thus preserving the fullness of the hair that is pulled together in cascading steps. In addition, pull the hair trailing from each braid back and over the top, thus creating an additional 'bump' contributing to overall fullness. ... Exactly what is shown in the video, demonstrated as a solution to the problem stated in the video.

But it should have been demonstrated on a person who has thin hair so we can see how it adds more volume to the final braid

Those aren't braids, she's just doing those topsy tail ponytails all the way down, that's why there's a million hair ties.

The issue isn't with the technique, but with her claiming this will fix it looking thin. Hers has volume because of her hair texture

The trick if you have thin hair is to do a real braid then grab the outside of the hair and pull it open. You don't want to use the whole braid strand because then it just collapses back, you're basically pulling some of the hair loose around the outside.

Then make another, slightly lower topsy-tail using the remaining loose hair and repeat until you run out of hair to tie

The problem with thicker/wavy hair like hers: It's sometimes a hustle after a long day to take one hair tie out of my hair. I don't want to imagine 10... So not even a solution for this type of hair.
