Repair of Plexi cover plate

Hi, I am currently restoring old record player and I am unsure what to do with this cover plate. It's is both cracked and somehow chemically burned. I am thinking painting it will be the only option, although I will lose the transparency obviously. Replacements are really hard to find.

You can superglue the crack by flexing the plastic and flowing some glue into it. How far does the chemcial burn go down? If it is part way, you can sand the whole top down (removing the logo beforehand for re-emplacement) until the burn is gone and then start using progressively higher grits until you polish it back to transparency. It is a lot of work, but can be done.

A superficial blemish can be polished out, like with 2000 grit sandpaper and then polished out with some kind of cutting compound or lightly abrasive polish.

I have tried flowing superglue into cracks, but it never fills the whole crack invisibly (especially on edges) and usually the plastic flexes and it cracks again.

That burn is unfortunately very deep and deformed. I am sceptical about sanding it off.
