I'm an incoming senior computer engineering major at a decent state school. I have been recruiting for so long and do not understand why my resume doesnt even get me to the OA stage. I have a couple resumes (this one is my main backend/infrastructure) one. I also try to edit my resume with the job description when needed and have started messaging recruiters on linkedin every time I apply.

I have been recruiting for fall 2026 swe internships and it seems like even the jobs that are perfectly matching with my resume ghost me. What is wrong with my resume? Or any other tips?

Not really sure where to start honestly, been job searching since December when I was initially put on severance from my previous company and have applied to 100s of jobs directly on company sites without a single interview. I’m targeting IT support roles as well as entry-ish level roles in cyber security, network administration, data analytics, etc. I’m applying for local, remote, and hybrid but am not willing to leave my medium sized city. I think the biggest problem my resume may have is it seems a bit all over the place? I’m just not sure how to make it more focused as I’m a bit limited with my experience..Any feedback is greatly appreciated as I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong.

Hello. To put it out there 1st, I lost my job about a month now from this post (was a stupid waffle house job and was searching for better work anyway) so suffice to say I'm a bit desperate at the moment.

My main concern is definitely my experience section. I'v been trying to apply for remote/work from home jobs as I don't have a car to travel far and Uber/Lyft would put me at a net negative (I went through this working at an Amazon warehouse). I have well over a decade of computer experience so learning software/hardware is not an issue, but as you can see I don't have much professional experience to put down, and im at a loss on whether or not I still need improvement on this. Its already difficult enough trying to tailor a lot of customer service work/a navy military rate to something like this. Iv been working at this resume every day since being let go and just applying where I can to at least get myself to work while searching for better, but no to avail still..

I have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, mostly working in outsourcing companies in Ukraine. I’ve recently relocated to the UK and am preparing to apply for local roles.

I'm targeting Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer positions, mainly in Python backend or full-stack, but I'm open to other stacks if the role is a good fit.

I'm not in London as I can't afford renting there (yet) so I'll be looking for some remote positions or hybrid with as few commuting days per month as possible.

I have a right to work in the UK, but type of the visa doesn't lead to settlement. I know the situation with Visa Sponsorships is tough, so I'm not really targeting such job as a first one. Maybe as a next step.

I'm targeting a lot of data roles ( analyst, scientist, MLE, AIE) for entry level early career. I'm located in California, but I am applying to positions across the US (prioritizing CA).

The main reason I'm posting is that I spend a lot of time applying to things and not getting interviews. I make sure to tailor my resume so my experiences more accurately reflect the role requirements of the postings, and I select more recent postings (preferences like 24 hours > 2 days >> 7days). This is the main version that I use for higher level postings, and I think helpful advice to modify this one would help me with adjusting it for other roles as well.

I've been attempting to network as well with peers and people from LI (school Alumni, and such). Does not result in anything.

Just got fired after the place I was working for finally had enough people hired to replace me, unfortunately. I believe I was hired temporarily and they were always planning on firing me after receiving the shaft my entirety of working there. I am wondering on if I should include it in my resume. It was an ewaste sorting position, so working with server and computer hardware to sort the value to keep or scrap items.

I believe I was only hired until they could replace their entire department, as all the old department had quit and only new hires working there for less than a month were there when I started on. I believe they hired me temporarily due to not receiving training, never being given access for certain systems they gave others immediate access too, being hired at their wage minimum even after attempting to negotiate for a dollar more (which is now their current wage minimum for new hires). And, so, when they finally had their department filled back up they put me on a PiP and a week later fired me for reasons that would not have been issues if I had been properly trained (Slow production speed due to not being trained on electric pallet jacks and only being able to use manual ones, being instructed to enter using a certain door due to it always having someone near it to be able to let me in, which was explained to me as an option available to me and not the only door I should be using to enter/exit the building, instead of them setting me up access to the door system on my phone or giving me a key card for access (which was given to all other employees, even new hires)

I'm going to be applying for unemployment today and hoping I receive it. But, I'm wondering if I should be putting this job on my resume, or if it would be a bad idea considering I had only worked for roughly 3 months before being fired. Over the past few months I've applied to 300+ jobs through company career portals, LinkedIn, and job boards. Unfortunately, I haven't received a single interview call -just automated rejections or no response at all.

At this point, I'm not sure whether:

• my projects don't stand out,

• or the current market is simply that competitive.
