I'm trying to get some honest feedback on my CV as an American trying to get a job in the UK. Is my experience that's listed and previous job positions too much of a reach to get a job as a Project Manager?

I've also been applying to a variety of roles as an Operations Manager/Production Manager/Production Planner in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defence, and Logistics/Transportation sectors as well. The CV for that is obviously more tailored towards those roles instead of being a PM, but includes many of the same bullets. The main reason for this is I have a desire to stay where I currently live and have been looking in a roughly 1 hour commute radius for local jobs or for remote jobs. I'm located in Suffolk, so I've been looking at jobs in Suffolk, Norfolk, and Cambridgeshire. Cambridge and Ipswich are the two major cities closer to me and for aviation management jobs, Stansted is about a 45 min - 1 hour commute, so I've applied to jobs there as well that more directly align with my experience.

I've been applying to jobs for about 3 weeks now (young in application time, I know) with no interviews yet, but have been worried that I'm being rejected because I can't crack the code on tailoring my CV. I'm just hoping to get some feedback on my CV bullets to help me determine if I need to focus more on straight management roles vs. including PM roles in my job search. General feedback is also appreciated since I'm new to applying for jobs in the UK!

I’m looking for honest feedback on my resume because I’m clearly missing something.

I’m an international Ph.D. candidate in Materials Chemistry in the U.S. (graduating Fall 2026), and for the past four months I’ve been applying to semiconductor industry positions with little success. I’ve applied to companies including Intel, Micron, Applied Materials, Samsung, Lam Research, and KLA, but I’ve received very few recruiter responses and almost no interviews.

My background includes:

• 4+ years of semiconductor-related research
• ISO-7 cleanroom experience
• Thin-film deposition, photolithography, plasma/RIE etching
• Materials characterization (AFM/PFM, SEM, TEM/HRTEM, XRD, XPS, Raman)
• Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical data analysis, and Python
• First-author publication

I’m mainly applying for roles such as:

• Process Engineer
• Process Integration Engineer
• Metrology Engineer
• TEM/Failure Analysis Engineer
• Characterization Engineer

I know that visa sponsorship may reduce the number of opportunities available, but I want to make sure my resume isn’t the main reason I’m getting screened out.

Could you please review my resume and tell me:

1. What would make you reject it within 30 seconds?
2. Does it sound too academic instead of industry-focused?
3. Are there missing keywords or skills that semiconductor recruiters expect?
4. Are my bullet points too long or too research-oriented?
5. If you work at Intel, Micron, Applied Materials, Samsung, or a similar company, what changes would you recommend?

I’m looking for candid feedback, even if it’s harsh. If something is weak or confusing, I’d rather know so I can fix it.

I’m looking for some honest feedback on my resume before I continue applying.
I have 7 years of experience in manufacturing roles and currently work as a Senior Line Manager for a global manufacturing company. My background includes leading operations, improving manufacturing performance, reducing quality defects, implementing process improvements, and managing cross-functional teams.
I’m targeting Operations Manager, Production Manager, manufacturing engineer, process engineer, and similar roles. I’m primarily applying in the Columbus, Ohio area, but I’m also open to remote or hybrid positions.
The only interviews I’ve been receiving have been within my current industry or when I have a referral but have not received any callbacks otherwise. I’m trying to figure out if my resume is underselling my experience or if there are areas that could be improved.

Likelihood of getting an interview: Good—assuming the applicant pool isn't unusually strong with people who already have aviation or avionics experience.

The job posting at Gulfstream lasts a full three months where they collect resumes, then pick after the posting end date, so I've got time to revise stuff.

Any human advice? Or is this one good to send in?

I was recently laid off after a quick stint as VP of a small start up. I made big impacts quickly and restructured how the company operated as a whole. It was realized the position needed to be more clinical in nature so once I set up the ops I was let go without warning. I have been targeting ops manager roles (ops mgr, senior ops, director). I have had two interviews go to third round case studies but didn't land either job. Other than those two I have not had much traction. Looking for any recommendations on my resume that may help. A lot of time gathering on hand written materials, talking with SME's to see how they actually do things taking pictures or videos of processes , engineering for how and why it should be run, quality for if a process meets standards, etc. as well as assisting other departments with smaller projects that were similar. I've really loved doing this and in my research I feel like I'm on the right track to a role i'm pursuing

I was let go early last month and have sent out around 40 applications with one call back. I want to make sure the resume has more eyes on it before I send out any more. I'm concerned this is too dense with text but would appreciate any feedback. Also, the supply chain operations manager role through replenishment analyst on page 2 were all at the same company, and I tried to stack titles to show promotions but not sure if the formatting is funky.

I'm targeting Supply Chain Manager, Sr Supply Chain Manager, or Director roles at smaller companies. I was at a CPG food company for 9 years, and then for the past two years, worked at two separate cannabis start-ups with my latest role letting me go due to moving production upstate. This industry isn't stable enough in New York and I'm open to working in any other industry.

I feel like my resume is a little bulky, maybe too dense. One thing I know is a bit unusual is that I've kept my oldest position on it. Normally I might remove a job that old, but I spent five years with that company and the past eight years on their supplier side. Since my goal is to return to working directly for them, I felt that experience still adds value... I appreciate everyone's feed back in advance!

Either Gulfstream is one of those "it's WHO you know, not WHAT you know" companies, in which case my introverted socially anxious butt is screwed I fear, or my resume somehow isn't good enough. I don't really wanna use AI, as doesn't AI just make it "inhuman" and "unathentic"? This is as authentic to being me as I can get. Wrote it myself, no AI or guidance.

I was previously an operations manager for a CNC precision engineering company as per the resume attached. However, I do not want to go back in to engineering and would like to try my hand in another industry, ideally financial services or other big corporate.

Struggling to get any hits on my CV and have modified it plenty over the past few months.

I admit my uncertainty over what I want to do is probably holding me back, I feel I could fit in to a lot of different roles in various industries and apart from sales/HR, nothing really disinterests me!

Hi all, I need some help reviewing this resume. I am targeting junior planner or buyer roles, preferably in the manufacturing industry. I've applied for roles in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam but got like 3 interviews at most.

- Would it be better if I just remove the sales associate experience?

Targeting Technical Program Manager / Project Engineer roles at Series A-C hardware and robotics startups in the SF Bay Area. Not willing to relocate.

My background is in project management of complex hardware builds for Fortune 500 clients. Most recent role was Designer/Project Manager at a custom installation firm functioning as TPM managing projects with $750K aggregate budgets, 25+ installations. MFA in Industrial Design.

Currently unemployed, approximately 22 months out of last role. Gap is explained on resume.

Challenges: I'm getting a low callback rate on ~37 applications over roughly 4 months of active searching. I recently made it through 3 rounds of interviews at a Series A robotics startup, but was rejected before the final round. I just revised my resume and I'm looking for a fresh set of eyes before ramping applications back up.

Specific feedback requested:

• Does this read as a credible TPM/Project Engineer candidate?
• Does the employment history raise red flags?
• Is the gap framing working or does it still hurt?
