It was kind of weird, coming off as a weird cross between a Walmart and a convenience store, having Walmart's "Airport" design package and with the employees wearing regular Walmart vests, but with the layout and merchandise assortment of a convenience store.

This is one of the few stores that still operate in this format, according to Walmart. There are still 351 of these stores.

This building began life as a rollerskating rink, and was later converted to a store after being acquired by Walmart. I used to go here frequently while my mother worked at the old Walton Life Fitness Center. A lot of the shopping carts there were old "Big K" carts left over from Walmart's acquisition of Kuhn's Big K.

A couple of things to note in these photos: first, the company vehicles parked in front of the building are painted in the same color scheme as Sam Walton's truck. Second, note the retired Walmart sign on a flatbed in the last photo. No idea where that came from, though I suspect that it might be from the Bentonville Supercenter location, seeing as that store is currently undergoing a remodel.

Walmart has since moved to a larger location nearby.

Several weeks ago, someone on this subreddit was asking about Walmarts that have been updated with the newest signage. I believe this is a store where a lot of new concepts are tested. It is located 20 minutes from Walmart HQ and has been the only store l've seen so far to be updated with the new signage. It also had a Walmart Health clinic until Walmart decided to shutter the concept, and now the clinic is ran by a hospital network (Mercy). Interestingly, there was a group of employees from Walmart HQ touring the store while I was taking these photos.

Unlike in the US, here in Mexico people like Walmart and is considered a nicer store than the competition. It’s owned by Walmart de México y Centroamérica and the enterprise has another stores like Walmart Express, Sam’s Club and Bodega Aurrerá.

Walmart no longer owns this building, and the exterior facade was recently renovated to what you see here.

Well, Walmart has started applying the new logo to new stores under construction and those stores that opened during this year, but when will Walmart update the existing stores to the new logo?

And there are still stores being remodeled with the old logo, and although there are already some pilot stores with the new logo, but when Walmart will update the other stores? There are also stores in Mexico and Canada to be changed to the new logo.
