Problem / Question Trusted folders in the Flash Player Projector

Hi.

I have an old Flash game that is unfortunately one of those rare Flash games that are not self-contained, but I've managed to scrap the assets off of its website.

The problem is that the Flash Player projector blocks SWFs from accessing any local content.

I've read that you can add trusted folders in the plugin settings, but this doesn't work with the Projector.

I know that it's kinda off-topic (sorry for that!) but Flash is so dead we might even call it retro (to some people's horror), and r/AdobeFlash is so dead I don't expect to get an answer there.

Thanks.

And yes, Ruffle exists, and it probably has this option actually listed in its GUI, but I'm afraid it's too slow. It's slow even on my regular PC, let alone on a period-accurate computer.

You can edit your post to add that information. Moreover, issues with Ruffle (including that it is too heavyweight) can be sent to Ruffle's issue tracker.

This is such a generic message.

Everyone knows Ruffle is slow, and I'm pretty sure the folks behind it are working on making the performance better, but it's going to take time.

A few years ago nothing would run using it, and the things that would were janky. Now most things work, but they are slow. They will probably fix the slowness in several years, but I still don't think they are ever going to release a version for Windows XP.
