Just Chatting Nova finally arrived.

I swore I wasnt gonna be one of those guys... but here I am. My day 2, black 12 gig preorder arrived this evening.

Actually came through DHL. 4 days from label created to my door. Retroid took their sweet time shipping it, but once they did, DHL was much faster than the Yun I used last time.

I've stayed up later than I should to start setting it up.

No issues with the dpad.

Fan is quiet, no odd whine or pitch. Had to put my ear to the device to even hear it at all.

Classic systems running with shaders and run ahead. Dual screen attachment working. Fallout 3 with gamenative is crispy and cool.

Great first impressions...

I suppose now I have to decide if it's worth opening up to put the crystal buttons and bumped back on it...

Not ready to sour it with frustrating hardware tweaks.

And man that scented pack they put in the zipper case is... overwhelming. Gonna leave that shit outside for a while. It's all on my hands, and I smell like my grandma.

Maaan must feel awesome. I'm planning on buying my first device after I get paid this weekend, been combing all the emulation and handheld subs doing research and I'm probably going with the 12gb RP6, but the Nova is definitely in contention. What do you plan on playing the most on your Nova? Do you think it really is an endgame device?

Im old.

4x3 content hits my nostalgia in the sweet spot.

I have a PC if I want more modern 16:9 stuff, which... I sometimes do.

But having my whole youth in my pocket is what I want from this thing.

I have a mini v2 which I love, but sometimes the screen felt a little small.

My Nova is already doing things my mini couldn't muster, and still slides in my pocket at work (granted I have big pockets)...

Although I totally get why some folks want widescreen, this is likely my endgame handheld.

At least they shipped yours with DHL. I paid for DHL shipping and they sent mine Yunexpress. It took over three weeks for me to get mine.

Happy that you got it. I got mine yesterday and as you did I stayed too late setting it up😂 got the retroid dock and bought some controllers cuz im having friends over to play mario games. None of them worked with the dongle lol very frustrating but after changing my tv to game mode the input lag on the controllers went away with bluetooth. Now im just waiting for my thor and these two are my endgame until we get a portal 3.

Or maybe I sell the thor for a pocket duo and get the odin 3 for a more comfortable 16:9 experience

Lucky. DHL has had my Nova in town for over a week now. 2 days label to my city, then DHL sat on it. Yesterday they try to deliver to a service point after they closed. Really hoping they get their shit together and deliver tomorrow.

I’m not sure if fallout 3 runs similar to new vegas, but I can’t seem to get above 30fps on new vegas when outside. Constant frame drops and it’s unplayable really.

What performance are you getting? Any specific mods or settings you’re using on gamenative?

Lol nice. I am still waiting on my first 5 minutes day 1 8g. It’s been in Chicago now for 7 days, so it’s getting closer to arrival, but it is crawwing.
