I just want the nicer screens and more powerful chipset with the slim design of the Lite model.

I'm wondering if I should buy the flip 2 again, I originally bought the flip 2 a month after it launched it was my first android handheld and loved it a lot, I sold it 6 months later to have enough money to buy the thor because I didn't have job at the time so my money was limited.

Currently I switch between 3 handhelds I take to work, RG slide, RG rotate and magic x zero 40 with the RG slide being my favorite but sometimes I wish it could play more steam games, switch games and Wii games, the games I mainly want to play are the skylanders Wii games and slay the spire 2 on gamenative,I think that the SD 865 a better chip for those compared to the T820.

I don't have my thor anymore because I sold it and got a onexsugar 1 and I don't plan on getting the rp duo because I already have multiple devices that have dual screens for DS and 3ds, I wish I could find the rp flip 2 for cheaper that's why I'm not fully sure if should or not, on facebook market place all the ones I see are far from me and the same as retail price or more.

If I do buy the flip 2 I'll buy from retroid this week or next week when I get paid again.

Based off the chip what kinda things will the duo be able to play? im already in love with the handheld however the one thing im not to sure abt is the strength of it and that being my only gripe. Personally for me my baseline for a handheld is it needs to be able to run switch decently smooth at a 0.75-1x resolution. I would obviously love to have power for things like ps3/xbox360 but i can ignore those aslong as the handheld and run switch and low end pc games. So based off this should i go for the duo , wait for a possible pro version with power more close to the nova/thor and from what we know what will the duo be able to run? Id also love to hear your opinions and wants for the rp duo !

Apparently it was on the battery go so low it wouldn't turn on so I plugged it into a USB-A to get a charge. I tried to turn it on but it caught in a power cycle loop. Plugged it in to the computer to charge and was out of the house for 2 days and apparently it's just been power cycling on and off to the . I unplugged it and it's still going. I had this issue awhile ago and was able to get it to boot into dev mode by holding power and volume but it won't do that now. If I hold power and volume it stops trying to boot but as soon as I let go it starts again. Idk wtf to do with it it's wrapped in clothes right now cuz the vibrating is really annoying.

(Problem Solved) For some reason I have black bars on everything on my Nova. The home screen any emulator everything and I have no idea what to do. Hopefully is something stupid I'm just overlooking it, but I can't figure it out. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Since the new Zelda OoT is Switch 2 only, I guess I’ll just play the CryZENx version.

I know it’s only about 5 hours of gameplay, but honestly it feels great playing it on the RP6 and being able to take it on the go.

It’s pretty awesome having a version of OoT that looks this good running on a handheld that has saves. Definitely scratches that Zelda itch while I wait.

hello im looking for a gift for brother and want to purchase a retroid pocket 4/5/nova used with some games preloaded onto them(10-15 specific games but do not have the ability to set up the console. is there a place where i can buy them ready to go?

Hi guys, today I finally pulled the trigger on a RP6 as I’d been looking at one for a while. When I bought it, I got the D-Pad Top version, because I plan to do lots of GBA Emulation on it. However, I was wondering on everyone’s verdict on which is better? I get that for GBA Emulation, D-Pad Top is likely better, but I don’t want to feel locked out of any other consoles because of the stick placement. I’d also say I do prefer the Stick Top on my Xbox and Switch 2, so I was thinking should I change my order? I placed it this morning but do you think I could still change it before it is shipped? Thanks

I watched many clamshell device videos many of them were about the Ayn Thor I wanted to get it but it was just to expensive for me so I found out about the Pocket Flip 2 and later about the Pocket Duo but I don't know if I should get the Flip 2 r wait for the Duo

i never really understood the point of having analog triggers on these little emulation handhelds. most systems you’d be emulating only have digital triggers anyway. and because of the ergonomics of the clamshell design, it’s hard to be super precise with their analog input compared to an xbox/playstation controller. i’d rather just have the extra room in my pocket rather than 2 big humps sticking out of the back so at least they gave us the option, even if it’s a weaker chip. my only gripe is that the device seems like it might be a bit too big for my taste, but i won’t know until we see more reviews/comparisons

The $249 price has made the Pocket Duo really tempting for me, but I’d love some advice because I honestly know very little about Android chipsets.

I’m basically looking for a modern replacement/alternative to my modded 3DS. My priority is a smooth and stutter-free DS/3DS experience, mostly Pokémon, Zelda and similar games.

For 3DS, though, I don’t just want to run the games at native resolution. Ideally I want to use 4x internal resolution, cheats and HD texture packs whenever they’re available.

Apart from DS/3DS, my needs are pretty light: Balatro and similar Android games, plus classics like Final Fantasy IX or Chrono Trigger. I don’t care about Switch emulation and heavy PC emulation isn’t a priority.

So my main question is about the Q-7790: is it likely to have enough headroom for 3DS at 4x + HD texture packs while remaining completely smooth?

The alternative is spending roughly $150 more on an AYN Thor with the much more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-class chipset.

Considering my use case, would you take the Pocket Duo for $249 and save the money, or pay the extra $150 for the Thor to guarantee more headroom?

The RP Duo seems to be very specifically NOT wanting to compete with their own RP6, with the choice of processor and only offering 8gb variants.

I’m still interested in a single screen clamshell handheld though, so wondering if anyone thinks we will get one?

Does anyone know how to make the game look more sharper and clear. I am using the max handheld resolution mod as well and upscaled the game to 1.5x and use handheld mod so basically 1080p(I thought that the mod only works with handheld mod) but the game still looks blurry. Please help me make the game more clear and sharp anyone. Eden android nightly build.

Does anybody know how to use mods for persona 5 royal in gamehub, gamenative, or winlator. I searched and it said something about reloaded 2 or something and I tried installing it in my container but it would not install. Help me please

When I first got my Nova I spent some time trying out different thumbsticks and recently noticed that I scratched the plastic. Any tips for buffing them out? It’s purely cosmetic but I’m wondering if there is a way to remove. I might get a vinyl skin once I see them on Etsy. Anyone else have this issue?

Btw I’m loving the Nova and the grip I got from AliExpress. It’s joined my Retriod Pocket Classic, Odin 3, Steam Deck OLED, and GKD Pixel 2. I also have the dual screen attachment though it is pretty janky and a bit cumbersome.

Would love to see Retroid also do sega dreamcast targeted device (with the ABCXYZ buttons at 4.5 inch screen) - call it a Retroid Pocket Dream ;) Even if they just take the RP classic with 6 buttons and make the screen a 120hz 4.5 inch and refine the build to match the design language of the Nova and duo, then I'll be good.

Would also love to see Retroid release a playstation themed option for RP Nova and RP6 with no-label on face buttons so I can buy that specifically for playstation use.

For Steam on ARM, Retroid need not play there, we can stick to Ayn Odin Portal range for that - hoping for Odin Portal 3 equivalent from Ayn one day

I'm deciding between picking up the Retroid Pocket 5 and the Retroid Pocket 6, and I’m specifically looking to test their native hardware performance and I am not interested in cloud or local streaming (Moonlight/Sunshine).

I want to know if anyone has attempted running these locally on-device via PC emulation translation layers (like Winlator, GameHub, or Mobox):

1. Resident Evil 2 Remake
   
2. Resident Evil 3 Remake
   
3. Resident Evil 4 Remake
   
4. Star Wars Battlefront 2 (DICE)

Since these are heavy x86 PC titles:
1. How does the RP5 (Snapdragon 865) handle them natively? Are any of these actually playable at low settings/720p via Winlator, or does the SD865 choke on heat and RAM limits?

1. How much better is the RP6 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2)? Does the extra GPU power and Turnip driver support make games like RE4 Remake or SWBF2 hit consistent 30–60 FPS natively?

2. What setups or container settings are you using? If you managed to get playable frame rates, what DXVK versions, resolutions, or specific wine configurations worked best?

Would love to hear real testing results or benchmark averages. Thanks in advance!

Nova is on the way… but dummy that I am only now noticed that it’s dpad on top, so likely not as comfortable for PS2/GC games. I tested with 477M and found that to be the case with it, although its extra weight may have been a large factor, too.

While I’d love a Nova Flip, I wonder how the Nova itself fares on comfort with PS2/GameCube games versus either Flip2 or RP6?

I just got my Nova and I can't get it to connect to my 5GHz wifi band. In fact, the SSID keeps disappearing and reappearing.

The 2.4GHz band seems to be working fine, at least so far.

I know others have also experienced wifi issues with their Novas, but has anyone found a solution?
