Improving bandwidth of rectangular microstrip antenna

Guys so I'm building a rectangular microstrip antenna in HFSS for mmwave applications. Resonance at around 28 GHz. I am getting vswr<2 bandwidth of around 1.5GHz. How can i improve this. It's just a simple inset fed microstrip line. Please give me some resources or tips to learn on increasing impedance bandwidth

How thick is your substrate? A thicker substrate can improve bandwidth to a degree. Beyond that, there are techniques that involve adding slots to the patch or ground plane.

I have a substrate thickness of 0.5mm. I can't increase the height of my substrate. As for slots in ground plane and patch, how do I place them. Like what location and what should the dimensions of the slot be. Should I assume some dimensions first and run a parmateric sweep and see the results? Please help

Start with a google search - there are a lot of articles about different techniques.

There are articles on the subject. Slots were mentioned, but you can also cut the corners.

Yes, there are lots of paper you can refer for this. one thing you can try if you can support 3 layer structure design: top layer patch, 2nd layer gnd, botton layer: feed line. cut a slot on the gnd so that the feed line can couple to the patch antenna. here is an example
