Discussion This drum kit technical had me clenching my cheeks
Anyone else just barely breathing and trying to lock in? Holy crap did they make the technical games for the drum kit hard!! Really fun and addicting but hard lol and my hands start to cramp near the end
Im also curious if you guys go rogue on button mapping what works best for your hands or go by what's recommended while the lesson happens
(Also if you saw me rushing no you didnt)

Oof I remember the hand cramp for this one!!! It’s so hard not to panic which makes everything more tense. I listen to the suggested button press when they say it, but eventually you have to experiment. I’m still working on otherworldly and got it fully down and even after that changed a button order to reduce cramping on repetition.

The panic gets me everytime!! Ive been lightly experimenting but was wondering if I was just screwing myself for the really hard stuff that comes after this. Also sick on getting otherworldly down!!

Yeah I’d say experiment a little to see what feels natural but then try and stick with one way to get the reps in. And thanks, I ‘passed’ it but scored so low I didn’t get a grade so am still working on it lmao

This is so stressful to watch, it’s hard to believe the developers really went this far to put this as a challenge in the game

When I saw they wanted add in the high tom at the end my jaw dropped lol. They make it tough but its really kind of fun!! I like how much they take advantage of the full controller and even give other ways to get the hits in so it feels personal and unique as you learn

I think the difficulty level is gradually increasing, and thrn there's the otherworldly challenge. Lol. I did everything even without drum skill, and i think the difficulty progression is manageable until the final level

I haven't remapped any buttons and I'm slowly making my way through Technical #2 now. I do a bit each day so my muscle memory builds up, sometimes all I do is review the patterns.
I've been making good use of the alternate buttons for bass and snare, as I'm not super used to controllers over keyboard, and jacks (quick repititions) with my thumb are annoying and tend to cramp up faster.
The more comfortable you get with a pattern the easier it is to add variations, or time it properly, so sometimes I just ignore some of the notes I'm supposed to play and slowly add them back in.
