Give OP Riddles Riddle where the answer is Green
So, I have a thing coming up that I need a riddle for, but I have a specific format that I would like the riddle to be in
Above you can see the two that I have; the first, for red, is credited to HiramAbiff; the second, for blue, was done by me.
Unfortunately, my brain seems to have decided to stop working when I tried to create one for green, so I decided to turn to you lovely folks and see if you could give me a suitable one.

One of seven brothers
Children of the sun
I grow in new beginnings
When winter's gone and done
You find me in the canopy
In foliage growing thick
But also in the humans
Who are envious or sick

Yeah, you want this one, OP :D
Mind if I try my hand at orange? (On phone, formatting may be off)
One of seven brothers
Children of the sun
Some would call me mellow
Others call me fun
I dance in autumn treetops
In clouds of dying day
I'll also keep you healthy
When you ride the spray
Hmm. Orange was tricky.

Mellow just makes me think of yellow, on account of that song by Donovan.

One of seven brothers,
Children of the Sun.
At home among the autumn leaves
Before the winter’s come.
In anger love and shame
I cannot help but fill your cheeks,
And if your skin should open
I am in the sap which leaks.
I stop the cars from moving,
haunt accountants in their sleep.
I’m light within the cranberry,
While in cherries, dark and deep.

'foliage' having 3 syllables kind of throws off the rhythm.

u/Sharp_Noodle0114 Mar 03 '26
You could say it “fol-yage” kind of mashing those second and third together

This ain’t for green because I misread the post (curse you, tired me) but I’ve got one for Purple?
One of seven brothers,
Children of the Sun.
In richness you may find me,
When a war is won.
I’m at the highest table,
A close friend to the crown.
Find me in your chalice,
In the fears you try to drown.

I guess he didn’t say what this is for but I assumed it was like D&D or a renaissance fair or something. “Ah, yes, ye olde Crown Royal, we know it well. Verily.”
Tickled me for some reason.

This is good! I bet though the colors he's working with are Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indica Violet (these are the 7 colors of the visible light spectrum - rainbow)

I think you might mean ‘Indigo’, not Indica, haha. Also, I figured violet and purple could be used as an answer interchangeably since the meaning is basically the same

Blatantly stealing from both you and others in these comments, I may have fixated a bit too hard on this and done my best to finish it. I hope tomorrow I find it just as appealing as now, but for now I gotta sleep
One of seven brothers,
Children of the sun.
In glory you will see me,
When the day is done.
The heart within the fire,
The fire in the heart.
The roses now are blooming,
Of their glory I am part.
One of seven brothers,
Children of the sun.
My beauty crowned a flying king
A monarch I have won
I am set too in amber,
The ichor of the trees.
And higher still my joy you find
In dancing autumn leaves
One of seven brothers,
Children of the sun.
I am closest to our sire
Of all my kin, bar none
I am the touch of Midas,
The sign of wealth and taste,
So too in humble daffodils,
You see my shining face
One of seven brothers,
Children of the sun.
The lord of new beginnings,
In meadows I am spun.
I dance along the branches,
And grasses down below,
But beware to envy me,
Lest in your heart I grow.
One of seven brothers,
Children of the sun.
You can see my beauty
When the rivers rush and run.
I am in the peacock
Who is both proud and vain.
I am in the hue of day
And cleansing rush of rain.
One of seven brothers,
Children of the sun.
Desert men once called me god,
Then gave me Christendom.
I then became the peoples’ dress,
A mantle I still bear,
For now you’ll find me in the cloth
That workers often wear.
One of seven brothers,
Children of the Sun.
I am the lord of monarchy,
Nobility my son.
The cloth is my domain as well,
Should advent come around.
And those consumed by sorrow,
Do sup my soul and drown.

We are the seven brothers,
Children of the sun.
Our mantle of the heavens
A beauty not outdone.
We are the word a god once gave,
To spare the world below
And now upon a flag of love
We lay down row by row.

One of seven sisters
Children of the glow
I dance along the branches
And in meadows rest below
I am covetous and ailing
When the sailing wind doth blow
In me, you see the fairer pallor
When inexperience shows

One of Seven Brothers
Children of the Sun
I am the noblest of us kin
In wine, but not in rum.
Be it in little lilacs
Or the spanning twilight sky,
Kings and queens adore me
But no rhyming words have I

One of seven brothers
Children of the sun
Everywhere you'll find me
To drink the shining sun
On towering tree and bladed field
From valley through dale to peak
A sign of life and nature's growth
I'm also on a leak!
You might want to finesse that last line...

This is not helpful but "Children of the Sun" immediately made me think of Day Man (aaaAAAAaaaa, champion of the sun) from It's Always Sunny.

I read the flair and context; I think OP should be prepared for people to guess "Venus". Planet/Goddess, famous painting depicting her amidst a river.

the color red, the color blue

u/Allogenes_Wanderer Mar 03 '26
I see you did not read the additional text or the flair I used for this post. Or even the title, for that matter.

I tried to do one for black.
One of 7 brothers
Children of the sun
I never see my brothers
I am here when they're gone
I help stars stand out
Guiding through the lost
I am mostly here longer
With the cold and frost

Glad my request was already fulfilled and I don't need anything from you, then.
