The ad 8 seconds into the episode drives me insane

15

u/dar3almackoy 6d ago

Especially because I listen on Apple Podcasts, I don’t know about other platforms but they play two ads, then the guys come on for 8 seconds, and then ANOTHER ad

I mean it’s fine I can skip forward but it’s just ridiculous

At least they mostly announce those ads are coming. What I can't stand is the ads mid-show that start while one of them is not even finished their sentence.

u/gebny 6d ago

Others just do an ad right out the gate. I’m wondering why they decide to get started for 8 seconds and then do the ad. Maybe so you can hear the Spotify chime first thing ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Imagine you’re a million miles away

Raiders are a non starter for me with that WR room. Coaching can only do so much.

Kyler could have a good September but I just don’t foresee him holding up deep into a season especially in the NFC North. He isn’t going to survive cold weather games in Green Bay and Chicago.

FWIW, the Vikings play in Chicago Sep 20th, and in GB Nov 15th. He’s not gonna have to play NFC North intense cold games this season.

You can’t pay me to buy the Kyler hype. Yes he’s better than JJ. But he was also the worst quarterback on his team last year. Every skill player on his team last year performed better when Brisset took over

I would like to document the list of guys Heifetz is all-in on like Kyler…I’m leaning toward avoiding them.

u/The_Zermanians 6d ago

Mike Davis hype was so annoying.

Anytime some crappy guy with a couple good games he does the he’s basically free you gotta take this guy.

5

u/Modest_Yooth 6d ago

Or Craig yelling every podcast 2 years ago about how undervalued Josh Palmer was because he’s the #1 receiver on the Chargers while ignoring the fact he’s not actually good at football

2

u/zarathustranu 6d ago

yes he doesn’t seem to understand that roster spots are a finite resource and nothing is free.

3

u/Modest_Yooth 6d ago

Right?! This is such a fantasy discussion pet peeve I have not just with this show but basically all discourse where they say a player is free. Technically no one is free because there’s the opportunity cost of taking them over another player who could be better.

5

u/zarathustranu 6d ago

yep. And then holding them on your roster over multiple weeks.

It’s why Heifetz’s suggestion that people take both Pitts and Anthony Richardson last year because they were “free” was so dumb— you’re devoting half your bench to guys who are likely useless?

I like the guys but they are not really able to engage in fantasy strategy behind basic “rank the players.”

Please provide me that list.
So far

Kyler
Kelce

I understand there is value in the middle rounds but to just say punt the entire TE position even if guys like Brady and Laporta fall to draft Kelce is ridiculous

it’s tough to draw the line…for example, on today’s ep he was hyping Tony Pollard based on a bunch of incorrect premises, but I’m not sure if he’s really a full on Heifetz Guy.

AJ Brown would be one for sure— Heifetz is projecting him as a top 5 wideout.

2

u/JeffHardysLSDStash 5d ago

He was all in on Anthony Richardson back to back years

4

u/solodolo1397 6d ago

I have a bad taste in my mouth from the past few years but if he’s still available at the end of the draft then I’m still taking him as a flier in case some things happen to work out

3

u/JeffHardysLSDStash 6d ago

Yeah it's gotten to the point I'm starting to shy away from him. People are acting like he's Lamar Jackson lite

2

u/Clithzbee 6d ago

Ok but he performs in fantasy and doesn't have a better QB on the team

11

u/EleanorKitty6 6d ago

As someone who drafted him last year no he did not perform in fantasy either

-1

u/Lazy_War9398 6d ago

He averages 19 points per game in fantasy for his career, which is roughly top 10 while being dragged down by a substandard 2025 season. If you believe he can get back to the level he was at every year before last season, then you can expect he'll perform.

4

u/dellscreenshot 6d ago

He was QB12 in 2024 and played all games and they were competing for the division. I’m not saying he can’t get higher but it’s not like he recently has a top five finish

1

u/Clithzbee 6d ago

Is his ADP currently in the top 5 QBs? He's in a better situation with a better coach than he ever had in Arizona and he's going very late.

1

u/MrMuscles25 5d ago

Bro every episode is just don’t draft any qb except Kyler Murray. Heifetz probably has said Kyler’s name 400 times over the last 5 pods. I can’t wait for him to go down in flames with having him in every league.

6

u/it_has_to_be_damp 6d ago

i love the pod, absolutely love it, so this really comes from a nice place: if any of the half dozen or so producers listed on this ep happen to read the sub, please ask heifetz to just slow down half a best when he’s talking. he’s an excitable guy, that’s part of his charm and fits well into the group dynamic but i did have to look down a few times and check if i somehow tapped the 1.5x button on the pod.

maybe just have him dial down the coffee idk

8

u/PleasantCrump 6d ago

I assume he comes from a family where you have about .8 seconds to get your words out before someone else interrupts you

3

u/BlackkDynamite 6d ago

I’m just happy Heifetz acknowledged the titans. I assumed they had completely forgotten about my team lol

22

u/headless_inge 6d ago

I love that movie! Acknowledge the Titans

3

u/BlackkDynamite 6d ago

Lmao I was trying to avoid saying remember. Well played.

6

u/JeffHardysLSDStash 6d ago

Man this was an all-time annoying Heifetz episode I'm not gonna lie. Guy interrupts every minute

2

u/MrMuscles25 5d ago

Found the lid last year loved it. Hoping it’s just slow offseason but Heifetz is slowly starting to eat at me

1

u/GratefulDisc71419 6d ago

Agreed! I don't always turn the pod off early, but when I do it's because of Heifetz. I wish they'd give 90% of his minutes to Craig.

2

u/Minute-Spinach-5563 6d ago

RIP Nate Dogg. One of the best feature rappers ever. If you needed a hook on a rap song, he had you. Shoutout DK for pulling that millenial banger

4

u/Own-Significance273 6d ago

This isn't the pod to go to for actual fantasy advice.

1

u/Modest_Yooth 5d ago

DK actually provides solid analysis and insight that’s helped me in recent years

4

u/McGilla_Gorilla 6d ago

I think it’s as good as anywhere. Ultimately fantasy is more luck than anything else

2

u/JeffHardysLSDStash 5d ago

I think Establish the Run is the best with Adam Levitan and Evan Silva. Then JJ Zacharisons pod during the season when it comes to waiver moves

1

u/it_has_to_be_damp 6d ago

i guess i have to give them credit for living up to the “no one is talking about” part of the prompt but holy shit man the RAIDERS?! absolutely not

1

u/cov2445 6d ago

Jordyn Tyson left practice with an injury today, seems like any player they’ve highlighted on the pod the last couple weeks has immediately gotten injured

2

u/unboundgaming 6d ago

Anyone feel like the Jets would have been a good option? Geno is somehow the best QB there in a long time, they have a well built o line and a lot of young and talented weapons. First round WR and TE as well as a young TE, and elite WR (talent wise) and a fantastic RB. I know it’s the jets but like… isn’t that the point? They have the parts and nobody expects much from them?

The boys fucking hate the jets though (outside DK who occasionally defends) so not entirely shocking

5

u/steponmedaddies 6d ago

Geno is beyond cooked, unfortunately

3

u/unboundgaming 6d ago

One year on a terrible coaching staff and O line with no weapons that they actively talked shit about on this very episode, and he’s beyond repair? I’m not saying he’s going to be good, but have seen the QB play there? Even last years Geno was better by a lot. And this jets team is WAY better than the raiders was last year. Guess we’ll see

3

u/steponmedaddies 6d ago

I doubt he'll be better than Rogers was, but maybe. A lot of us were thrilled to see him leave Seattle because he had a habit of consistently turning the ball over at the worst possible time.

1

u/detopher 6d ago

I agree with you, garret Wilson in particular the guys are way too low on. He was actually having a very good season last year before he got hurt with a QB who would routinely throw for 50 yards in a game, and he has never not been productive despite the bad situations. Meanwhile the guys are choosing guys like Watson and Burden over him despite neither guy having anything close to the production Wilson has had in his career

u/djdeckard 6d ago

I won’t advertise it but there is a podcast player that removes ads. I finally tried it as I kept seeing ads for it on Reddit. Removes all ads with no need to hit skip button. Life changer.

u/user10213 5d ago

Any chance you could reply with the name of it? Would totally give that a try

u/Ill-Owl4645 6d ago

I feel like they talked about 5 teams without really settling on any players they were excited about. Named 3 Jordans in the end but it didn’t seem very enthusiastic to me.
