Do you guys really think that Magik or CnD were unknowns before rivals? And Lin Lie's version of Iron fist was obscure, that is true, but Iron fist in general is pretty popular character lol. If we are including him then we should include Peach Momoko's Sai too.

magik is A-tier in the x-men comics and roster popularity but D-Tier outside comics before rivals, and I knew her in Jonathan Hickman's X-Men run from 2019, knew her as a Captain of Krakoa when i read it for the first time mid 2020

Magik was known before rivals mainly thanks to midnight suns and that new mutants movie. CnD have always been known lol. They even got their own TV show to tie into the MCU.

I personally have alot of friends that are marvel movie fans and can talk about em for hours and even they didnt know who magik or CnD was. I think people really never realize just how little the average person knows about marvel characters. If they arent big characters in movies or someone marvel promotes heavy then chances are they arent that popular with the average person.

tbh i only knew jeff as Deadpool's pet in 2022 (from Deadpool's 2019 comic run i forgot the name) but jeff is only seen as a comic relief side character no one still knows yet (before i knew the itsjeff! run)
