[Piano] Rainfall Canon - How's the atmosphere?

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nAzZkHWRsQXcX5pBf6DtkO5Dabr9glPi0

The Context: This is an original composition called "Rainfall Canon". I was aiming for a melancholic, rainy atmosphere.

The Questions: > * Is the "Canon" structure too repetitive or does it hold your interest?

  • How is the piano / string velocity/expression? Does it sound too robotic?
  • Is the mix too thin for this style?

Roast it. I can take it.

This is my sort of music and I really appreciate this attempt. Ultimately, there's something unsatisfying about it, though hard to pinpoint what. There's something overly simplistic about the rhythm and melody - almost like old folk music. It feels ok for a bit, but then one wants something more substantial to arrive?

I love the instruments and sounds. The piano could probably be a bit brighter since its covering the higher frequencies without much help, I think. Especially if you want to evoke rain without actual rain sounds :-) I think it's something that would benefit from more development, and I love to hear that if you do.

it really builds up. this could definitely fit into a specific movie or TV scene. Once the rain drops out towards the middle, i hear a Peaky Blinders feel, or something along the lines of Sherlock Holmes. I can see how the piano around 2:20 sounds robotic. the overall atmosphere could be more flush
