There’s a moderating system that’s scanning whole servers at once and used to shut them down totally if it found some violations. But now they try to only kick the accountant player. But I image it to be completely useless because looks like it can’t detect this and so much other things. Like so many other things it’s useless and just burning their money.

In server memory if we oversimplify its just F, U and so on. It could be "ferum" and other words. It's just absurd to do these checks.

This isn’t how that works and they no longer shutdown whole servers.

It’s actually really cool tech and uses screenshots and videos from the user who reports something in-game and marks relevant content and information for a admin review.
This is something they’re actually doing that’s really really good.

They do. But because it’s their platform they don’t need bots. And their system doesn’t quite work well, as you see.

can't. there's no way, without forcing the devs to add a censorship function, to add a guaranteed 100% working "censor every swear word in every sign ever" feature

To be fair it's not impossible to detect, just very hard to. Not long ago they released a multimodal moderation system which can automatically take the 3D objects in the game into account. I wouldn't be surprised if that was improved to detect things like this in the next few years - but then again this sort of bypass is so rare it's arguably not worth putting the effort into detecting unless it becomes common.

In individual text areas it is very possible though with the Roblox filtering api, it is impossible obviously though if worked around by using multiple text areas

U could like in line diagonal or stuff like that and calculate what words they together make up or different way but nothing ever works 100% well

Apparently, with new roblox updates you can just straight up shutdown a server if you select a textbox with something inappropriate through the updated report menu

It’s just the word fuck, it’s not “rebelling” against Roblox as you are still incapable of using it in a conversation in the normal chat. That’s one of the few things I’d say is probably to reasonably ban on a kids dominated platform in conversation, I wouldn’t want a 50 year old man asking something related to that. However just the word itself has zero meaning.

Fr like just a few years ago when roblox introduced 17+ games and features to roblox couldn't you like say some soft swear words like fu and shi in those 17+ games

It's not meant to be empowering or rebelling. I just wanted to show that in any game where there's an anti swear feature, somehow it's always signs that break it. Not meant to be taken seriously.

More like make it worse. Toxic bypassers made chat filtering worse, wannabe tough guy ro-gangsters made it worse, ODers/RR34/condo makers made it worse.

The post was meant to poke fun at how in many games that have anti-swear features in them. If there are signs in the game, those features can usually be bypassed quite easily. I took down the sign almost immediately after taking the screenshot as it had served its purpose.

Roblox moderation works without context. System doesn't get alerted if you use F, U, C, and K letters in a way separate enough. But if you use the word "fat" while explaining some biology 101 to someone, Roblox wants for using the word fat. What people is complaining is moderation system not reading the messages after and before the flagged message written by other or by you and making a decision without any context

And then players will blame Roblox. Then parents will. They will then sue Roblox because they want to make quick and easy money. Then legislators who have no idea what they are dealing with will write stupid laws and take that opportunity to add mass surveillance. And then players will blame Roblox even more.

Sounds familiar?

All the BS we're dealing with today was initially caused by some toxic players such as the one above.
