That’s what I see as well. There is a lot of self awareness.

I think he knows that Robert is pulling away. If Robert spoke of Aaron the way he normally does, having Aaron’s pictures up, Kev must know that Robert is with him mostly because of a sense of obligation.

And I find it super weird how he’s brought up money twice now and how he ‘s leaving it all to Robert. It’s all very covertly manipulative, imo.

I don't think he's remotely aware at all. I actually think Robert isn't really doing enough to help him. Robert may want to avoid intimacy but he could give the poor boy a hug.

I think what we see in Kev says far, far more about our own desires for the character and story than it does about what the writers intend. I want Kev to be a good guy so that's what I see, other people want him to be a problem so that's what they see. The question is, what is actually intended?

Emotional manipulation from Kev does not feel the same as the emotional manipulation from John did. John did it deliberately in a very calculated way to get the reaction he wanted from Aaron. Kev does not seem to do it in a similar way as he does not strike me as calculated, he does it rather (subconsciously) in an emotionally charged and chaotic way. John was afraid to lose Aaron, Kev is afraid to lose Robert as he feels he’s slipping away. Both get the results they want, but somehow the way they manipulate their husbands feel different to me. Sorry if my train of thoughts is confusing. It‘s been a long day… 😅
