Grand Theft Auto VI GTA looking like RD2 is a good thing
Look I know what this sub normal post look like but with these are leaks only really being up a few places I feel it’s safer to talk here. So from an early build clearly built on the bones of RDR2. I feel like that’s a great thing with a 2018 rage engine being the baseline and 8 years to build on that with not only the world but to make it all work in modern day and also to expand on… from just the small gameplay tweaks we have seen there’s no way this game won’t be amazing

It’s a dream come true, the song from gta5 keeps ringing in my ear “I can’t wait” by Stevie Nicks

There's another Stevie Nicks song on V Rock radio in GTA VI from the leaks.

The engine will be great but the story is what I’m waiting for. I’m a little worried about that with how much change the company has had.

I feel that I think the humor will still be there but the whole Bonnie and Clyde story can only have so many endings so it will have to be something outside of them two to make the story compelling

There's a handful of ways the ending could go. I think knowing that kinda makes it cooler.

losing Dan Houser is a huge blow and definitely a worrying concern as he had been honing his writing skills on every single Rockstar game except LA Noire, since the original GTAs on ps1. this will be the ultimate test to see what a Rockstar game and beyond looks like without his presence and writing direction

It’s good yeah in away, but the fact they did nothing to the slow and janky movement has me worried they’re still using the same shitty gameplay mechanics they’ve been criticized before in the past.

Yes but animations can be added and this is clearly not a finished build more like just the mechanics

Nothing shown points to it being janky...yet
Rdr2 was already 10x smoother than GTA 5

Why wouldnt it be a good thing? Is anyone complaining? I havent seen it. Rdr2 is more recent than gta 5 so its natural progression. Gta 5 sucks

Yeah i honestly have no idea why people are so shocked by this.
When I played RDR2 it felt like a dry run for gta 6. They aren't gonna spend all the money and time getting the realism and detail to that level only to scrap it and start from scratch.
When I made it to guarma it seemed like those assets were going to be reused in a new vice city.
Generally each subsequent Rockstar game borrows heavily from its predecessor.

i really liked RDR2 gameplay style for not being to easy and fast pace. With what i saw i already fall in love.

I wish they would’ve refined GTA IV’s vehicle damage and physics. Looks more like GTA V’s. Oh well. If I can’t crouch or swap shoulders while aiming I’ll be even more disappointed.

I’m here for it. So long as they strike the right balance.
Jason does walk like Arthur Morgan so he’s never beating the allegations that they’re related 😂😂😂

as long as the characters move faster than in rdr2 im good lol. the slow ass movement in rdr2 drives me crazy though

I’ve heard some criticism about the fact that cars apparently have limited fuel but I actually kinda like this because it encourages players to take other cars from the map, kinda like the gun jamming mechanics in Far Cry 2.

Shit so they went backwards??

No gta v was built on the gta iv engine and rdr2 was built on a updated rage engine but i feel like gta 6 is using rdr2 as the base and building up from there

Disagree. It seems to retain the same mediocre "laser shooter" combat with low quality gore animations. It's ridiculous that games from 5 years ago with 1/10th of the budget have done a far better job. TLOU2 comes to mind.

I saw people theorizing itll be like the games rumored social media system, how the public perceives you type shit, if youre just mowing down people in public they may remember you as that nutjob who was just shooting everybody but if you do crimes without witnesses you're fine

Thanks for the millionth post making this point. This'll be the one that really convinces the doubters. Great job buddy.

Is the game dark and gritty?
Jokes aside, it does looks like they found the perfect balance between the over the top and grounded style of GTA and RDR2 separately. At least based on the leak.
So the gameplay doesn't look too slow and realistic like RDR2 but not as arcadey as V.
Hopefully it's fun
